"Edward, Edward." I heard myself mumbling. I felt strange moisture at my lips. Weird… I didn't feel that horrible burning they were always talking about. Could I have forgotten that quickly?

"Bella, wake up!" Edward was shaking me gently.

I sat up immediately, putting my hands on my face to see if I could feel the icy, hard skin of a vampire. Nope, still warm. I got up to look in the mirror at my eyes, still the same old chocolate brown, identical to Charlie's. Maybe they were really black… but didn't Edward say newborns eyes were red? Another strange thing is that I was craving something other than blood… pineapple.

"Earth to Isabella Swan!" Edward taunted from my bed. "Bella, what are you looking at?"

"You…you …and then…and I…VAMPIRE!" Edward's eyebrows knit together in a really cute, confused puppy dog way.

"Are you feeling okay?"

"My eyes, they're still brown," I whimpered, "And I'm still…" I waved my hand over my body. "Bella."

"Yes… you seem to be Bella." He cocked his head to the left, "But I could be mistaken."

I stared at him in total disbelief. He had changed me, I was certain of it. Inside I was 3 again and I was jumping up and down screaming "You changed me! I'm a vampire!" Thank god he couldn't read my mind; if he could he would be questioning my sanity at this moment, just as I was.

"Bella, what were you dreaming?"

"I WAS DREAMING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?" I screamed. "NO! THIS IS SO NOT FAIR!" I walked to my closet, inwardly fuming. "AHHH!"

"Bella, you were talking…what were you dreaming?"

"That you changed me." I said so quietly only a vampire could hear.

He walked towards me and lifted my chin so I was looking him straight in the eyes. He shook his head, wearing that crooked smile, but his eyes were sad.

"Bella, you have a week till graduation. Can you not wait that long?"

"You don't understand… I said you changed me."

He pulled me to him and started to softly hum. I suspected this was more for his own comfort than mine.

"Bella, marry me first."

"I can't say yes to that yet."

"Then neither can I." He whispered. "I'll wait if that is what you wish, we could marry when you're ready and then I'll change you."

"That's too long."

"I've waited 100 years for you, I'm willing to wait another 2 or 3 or possibly even 10!"

"No Edward!"

"Bella, my love, this is for your own good."

"Fine." I sighed, resigned. "But 10 years is WAY too long!"

He smiled and kissed me softly. As far as I was concerned heaven wasn't complete without him, nothing was complete without him. Especially me.

The End
