Okay, I rarely just write something so short as a stand alone, but it was a scene that cried out to be written and posted. Something simple and sweet...definitely Crack!fic. I hope that you enjoy this brief glimpse at our two favorite birds.

----To achieve the impossible dream, try going to sleep---

--- Joan Kemplar---

Standing silent beside the bed, he felt a smile tug at his heart as he watched her sleepily search for him before giving up and simply snuggling into the spot on the bed that still held the heat and imprint of his body.

He wondered if she knew that she searched for him; for his warmth and comfort when she was asleep. It was very different when they were both awake, rarely did she turn to him for anything.

"Stop staring at me." Her voice was husky and slurred with sleep, so he knew she hadn't fully awakened. She didn't ask where he was going; but she never did.

"Can't help it." He smirked at her, even though her eyes were open. "Didn't know you were so shy."

""Not shy," She grumbled cracking one eye open to look up at him. "Tired, sleeping now; talking later."

No one outside Robin knew of Raven's resistance to waking up. He often theorized that it had to do with how hard she fought to get to sleep in the first place; who would want to give up something so hard won?.

"Go back to sleep, I'll see you at breakfast." He said quietly pulling the blankets over her shoulders. He moved to grab his work out gear as quietly as he could.

"Mmmhhfffhhh" Raven mumbled from the bed and he turned to look at her one last time. "Sleeping now yes; food not now." She rolled over and shut him out while unconsciously snuggling deeper into his side of the bed; settling into the memory of his scent and warmth.

He smiled gently at her before heading silently from the room. Standing in the hall he thought back over the days of their courtship, friendship and everything that had brought them together. He decided that it was these mornings that he looked forward too most, seeing her so vulnerable; soft and free. A sight that was his alone.

Robin felt a slight pain at the thought that he had almost missed this, if she hadn't returned. If he had turned her away, he would have missed the most beautiful thing in his life.
