Turquoise eyes stared out the window; calloused fingers plucked at the strings of a sitar. Demyx knew the tune by heart, and was so immersed in his music that he did not hear the knock on his door. The sitarist didn't even notice the door opening or the girl stepping inside. However, he did notice her as she started to clap.

"Huh? Oh, Khrisix, it's you." He smiled.

"That was great; you're really good at it." She grinned.

"Thanks!" He replied happily.

"…Could you teach me how to play?" Her request was quiet.

"Sure!" Demyx replied without hesitation.

"Really? Thanks!" Khrisix smiled. He chuckled at her enthusiasm.

"Let's get started, then. Place your fingers here…"

That was the first lesson out of many.

It helped that Khrisix's other had been in band; it saved Demyx the task of teaching her how to read music. He gave her a guitar to practice on – after all, that was what she was learning to play – the sitar belonged only to him.

Eventually Demyx taught her the song she'd heard him play before she asked for lessons.

Xemnas sent Demyx to Hollow Bastion with a mission. He left with a confident promise to Khrisix.

"Don't worry, I'll be back." He grinned, leaving with the swoosh of a portal.

Purple eyes took in the semi-familiar landscape of Dark City. It was raining; the weather suited the event. Khrisix left her hood down.

She sat and played Demyx's Song, as she'd come to call it. The sitarist never had come up with a name.

Demyx. He'd never come back that day.

A tear slid down her cheek, mixing with the raindrops already present on her face. It was impossible to tell which was which.

She knew what to name the song now.

Tears in the Rain.
