Chibi Elementary Chapter 3
The front doors of Raccoon Elementary burst open, the remains of S.T.A.R.S Alpha Team rushing through them and slamming the heavy oak doors in their wake. Within seconds they could hear the horrific chattering of crazed squirrels against the door. After a few moments it was silent.
A heavy silence plagued the air, broken only when Barry shook his head somberly, "I always knew I would die in this school," he muttered. Jill began to cry.
Chris kicked the front door, "Darnit! If it wasn't for that chicken-shit Vickers, we wouldn't be stuck in here!"
Wesker eyed the door to his left and the door to his right. If he wanted to get rid of the S.T.A.R.S team, he would have to split them up. Luckily, as he finished that thought, shots from a pellet gun accompanied by anguished screams rang out from the left door.
Jill squeaked and hid behind Chris. Chris eyed the door, "What the heck? That's gotta be Bravo team!" he said matter-o-factly. Wesker nodded in approval.
"You're right, that's why Barry and Jill should go investigate it, while me and Chris stay here and secure the perimeter." Jill raised her hand and Wesker stared at it, "Jill, it's not school hours right now. You don't need to raise your hand to ask a question."
Jill nodded, "Um, why are we splitting up?"
Wesker glared at her, "Because I'm the Captain, and I said so. Now move!" he ordered. Snaping into combat mode, Barry and Jill saluted their commanding officer before throwing open the door, guns drawn, and raced into the connecting hallway to face whatever peril awaited them.
As the pair disappeared, Wesker eyed the dim-witted Chris, who was currently passing the time by picking his nose and staring at the wall with a vacant expression.
Wesker smirked as he pulled a hersey bar from his pocket. Too easy. "Hey Chris, look! Candy!" he cooed. He opened up the door leading to the right hallway and tossed it in.
"Candy!" Chris screamed and darted down the hall.
Wesker slammed the door with a smirk, "Idiot," he chuckled as he ran over to a nearby maintenance closet to rendevue with Umbrella Inc.
Barry and Jill carefully eased their way down the darkened hallway, and even though they had passed through this hall countless times during school hours, the current circumstances involved put them on edge. They spotted room A-101. It was currently creaked open with the lights on.
Cautiously approaching it, they paused as Barry came upon a small pool of red liquid. "What is it Barry?" Jill asked.
"Blood. I hope it isn't Chris's," he whispered while bending over to get a closer look at the crimson substance.
Jill raised an eyebrow, "But we just saw Chris."
Barry began to prod it, "This is gonna take some time. Go investigate that classroom while I stare at this puddle and pretend to examine it."
Jill glared at her friend, before sighing and carefully pushing the door to the classroom open. She immediatly froze up at the sight of Kenneth Sullivan laying face down on the floor, with some random boy on top of him, mindlessly gnawing at his head.
"Please get off," came Kenneth's weak reply, muffled by the floor while the rabie-infected boy enjoyed chomping at the S.T.A.R.S member's delicous cranium.
That is until Jill's gasps caught the boy's attention, and he slowly rose and began to stumble towards his next victim. In response, Jill screamed and darted back towards the door.
Back outisde, Barry was rubbing the red substance in his hands, "Oh, this isn't blood, it's just fingerpaint," he muttered matter-o-factly, before the classroom door flew open and Jill slammed into him, causing a pile up on the floor, Jill on top.
Barry stared at the girl on top of him and smirked, "Jill, I know I am devilishly handsome, but you really must control yourself; I mean we are only kids." Jill blushed and grabbed the man by his fake beard.
"Ow ow ow!" Barry cried as she forced his head towards the right. His eyes widened at the sight of the boy mindlessly shuffling towards them.
"Oh crap."
Meanwhile, in the right corridor, Chris hummed happily as he chewed on his chocolate bar, not even contemplating the fact that his commanding officer had just led him towards his doom.
Passing by the nurse's office, he paused when he noticed the lights on. He carefully pushed open the tinted glass door, "Hellooo-YEAAAAO!" Chris screamed when he received a full spray of disinfectent, curtosy of Bravo team's medic, right into his eyes.
Rebecca Chamber's eyes widened as she realized that not only did she not spray a zombie; she instead hit a fellow S.T.A.R.S member, and also the cutest boy in school, "Oh no!" she meeped, quickly grabbing the blinded boy's flailing hands and leading him over to one of the nurse's beds.
"I-I am s-so sorry Chris!" she studdered. She grabbed a cloth and applied it against the boy's cringing eyes.
"Um...no problem...whoever you are," Chris groaned as he plopped down on the soft bed.
"It's Rebecca...Rebecca Chambers, the new medic from Bravo Team," she murmered. Chris immediatley brightned.
"Oh yeah, the weird shy one right?!" Chris asked rudley. Upon hearing the little girl sniffle, he immediatley realized how bad that sounded, "I mean...the one with the pretty green eyes?"
Rebecca's face heated up, and she thanked God that Chris was still half-blinded and couldn't see it, "So what happend to Bravo Team?" Chris asked in an almost care-free way. Was he always so...cheerful?
The little medic hung her head sadly, "We were chased in here by those things outside, and Enrico told us to split up. I went with Richard, however he suggested that I grab some medical supplies while he went to go check out the science lab. He said he would meet up with me when he was done, but he hasn't shown up yet."
Chris stood up from his bed, a heroic look in his puffy red eyes, "Then I guess we better go find him!" he shouted, grabbing the blushing girl by her wrist as he kicked open the door.
Jill screamed and covered her head as Barry took action, firing multiple BBs at the slowly approaching boy. It took one particularly painful one bouncing off the kid's forehead for him to fall back to the ground, unconcious.
"What the hell was that kid's problem?" Barry asked, nudging the unconcious boy's shoe with his own.
Jill shivered and continued to cover her head, "I don't know, but he got Kenneth!"
Barry's eyes widned, "What?!" he screamed. He looked inside to see Kenneth passed out face down on the ground. Running up, he leaned down and began to perform an expert medical analysis. He poked him repeatidly.
"Crap, he's out cold too. Well, let's just leave him here for now and report back to Wesker."
Jill felt bad about leaving Kenneth behind, but nodded anyway as the two sprinted for the main entrance hall. Upon reaching the hall, they were shocked to find both Wesker and Chris missing.
"Aww, where the heck did those idiots run off too?!" Barry growled in frustration. Jill's eyes began to water again. She sniffled. "Snap out of it Jill, we gotta find them." Jill wiped the tears from her eyes and the snot from her little nose as Barry looked down the two hallways.
"Hmn, I think it'll be best if we split up, we'll find them faster and possibly find Bravo Team."
Jill was a little more than unsure about her friend's suggestion. From what she saw so far, there was the possibility of danger at every turn. What if the squirrels got in? Or even worse, what if there were more of those crazy kids stumbling around, waiting to gobble her up?
No. She was a member of S.T.A.R.S! She had to be brave. Giving Barry a confident nod, her friend smiled in return as he headed for the door they just came from, "I'm heading for the cafeteria to see if anyone from Bravo team is held up in there. Good luck Jill."
"Thanks Barry. You too," Jill said as she headed through the opposing door and into her own adventure.
"Oh my Gosh! Richard!" Rebecca screamed. As fast as her little legs could carry her, the girl sprinted down the hall and came to a stop in front of Richard Aikens, sprawled out in front of the door to the school's science lab. She knelt down and immediately checked his wounds.
Chris approached them, "What happend to him?" he asked with concern.
"Ugh...snake bite," Richard moaned in pain, seemingly on the verge of passing out. He pointed to his arm. Thinking quickly, Rebecca fished through her med-kit and pulled out the necessary supplies.
"Easy Richard, I'm going to help you," Rebecca said. Her hands were shaking, palms sweaty. Her tongue snuck out of the side of her mouth with fierce concentration. One wrong move, and it could very well be all over for Richard. Gently now. Gently.
With expert percision, Rebecca placed her Hello Kitty band-aid over top of Richard's boo-boo mark. "There," she declared triumphently, sealing it off with a kiss.
Richard smiled weakly, "Thanks Rebecca...that feels a lot better," he said, sitting up.
"You said you got bit by a snake?" Chris asked.
Richard nodded, "Yeah. It was a monster! It must have been over twenty feet long and had over one thousand razor sharp fangs full of deadly venom!
"But I thought the only snake in the science lab was Yawn, the class garden snake," Rebecca said.
Richard rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, a blush forming on his cheeks, "Ok, so maybe I exagerrated it a little bit. But it's still a monster I tell ya!"
Chris burst out laughing, "Aww, poor little Richard got bested by a teenzy weenzy garden snake."
Richard glared at him, "Yeah? You think you're so tough? Then how about you go in there and take him on," Richard suggested, motioning to the door to the science lab behind them.
Chris rolled his eyes, "Whatever nancy-boy. I'll take on the stupid snake. Then I'll find the rest of Bravo team and save the day like a true American hero."
Chest puffed out, the boy confidently marched into the science lab. It was dark. Nothing much could be seen except for some overturned desks, scattered papers, and a vacant snake tank in the back of the room with the word YAWN written on a stickey note.
Chris tried the light switch. Nothing. He heard the faint sounds of hissing in the darkness, and seriously began to lose all of that bravado he had mustered up prior to coming in here. He couldn't see where the little bastard was, but he could definately hear him slivering around.
He shook his head. It was just a stupid snake. What harm could it possibly do to him? It wasn't even posionous. These comforting thoughts were put on hold when Yawn fell from the ceiling and landed on Chris's head. The snake coiled up in the boy's hair and flicked its tongue lazily.
It obviously meant the boy no harm, merely enjoying its new-found freedom, but that didn't stop Chris from immediately screaming like a girl and darting around the room, knocking over everything in his path.
"I'm going to die!" he screamed, not going unheard by his two friends awaiting outside. Chris was able to throw the garden snake from his head, just as Richard kicked in the door and rushed in. He gasped at the site of Yawn slowly approaching the petrified Redfield.
"Chris! No!" Richard screamed and dramatically pushed Chris out of the way, slipping on some pencils in the process and slamming his face against one of the desks. Yawn watched the display with curiosity, before simply slivering over to a nearby open window and disappearing into the night.
Chris sat up and groaned, "Jeez Richard, you didn't have to be so rough with the pushing...Richard?" He spotted Richard's unconcious body laying on the floor, "Uh oh."
Rebecca gasped, "Richard!" She knelt down to check on him. This time was definately bad. He was out, and it didn't look like he was going to wake up any time soon.
"Oh crap, oh crap, oh crap," Jill repeated her mantra, trying her best to ignore the shattering of glass behind her as ravenous squirrels that would forever plague her nightmares dove through windows and chased her down the long hallway of the school.
Rounding a corner, Jill squealed as she came upon two ravenous children, mindlessly shuffeling towards her. Thinking quickly, she pulled out her pellet gun and fired two rounds into the left one's temple. The pellets bounced painfully off of the kid's head, sending him to the floor in a daze. Jill dodged around the other child and ran into the nearest room she could find. The back kitchen of the cafeteria.
Whipping her gun around frantically, the little girl made absolutely sure that the room was clear of squirrels and children before she dropped her guard. She had never been back here before, so it would've been kind of neat if the circumstances weren't so terrifying.
"Barry?" she whispered into the darkness. She knew her friend said he was coming here, and she could really use the company right now.
That's when she saw it. Behind some boxes and past a large trash compactor, hanging on the wall was the weapon of her dreams. A super rare Super Soaker CPS 2000!
She practically danced over to it, wasting no time crawling through the trash compactor and over to the other side. With a greedy swipe she pulled the Super Soaker off of the hooks it was on. The moment she did so, the hooks made a clicking sound. Odd.
Jill admired the water gun for a few moments, before deciding it best to try and find a way to rendevous with her team. With no other way than to backtrack, Jill crawled back into the trash compactor. The second she did, the metal sides of the compactor slammed down around her and she heard the machine rumble to life.
Oh crap! She slammed her fists against the metal, frantically trying to escape as the compactor began to lower. In a few moments she'd be squished!
"Barry! Anybody! Help!" she screamed over the roar of the machine.
"Jill?!" she heard her friend Barry call out to her from the other side.
"Oh, thank God! Help Barry, I'm stuck!"
"Hang on!" Barry yelled. He fired a couple pellets against the control panel, and deadpanned when they bounced off harmlessly. Deciding to take the most obvious route, the boy darted towards the wall and dove for the plug. With one mighty pull the machine died down. He quickly ran back to the compactor. With the power off, the metal sides instantly slid up, revealing Jill huddled in a ball, shivering uncontrolably.
Barry smiled, "Jill, you're safe."
Jill opened her eyes and looked to her savior. She smiled, "Thank you so much Barry!" she cried happily, crawling out of the compactor and giving her friend a quick hug.
Barry chuckled, "No problem, but hey, a couple more seconds and you would've fit nicely into a sandwich." Barry fished into his pocket and pulled out a turkey club, "Speaking of which, you want a bite?"
The girl raised an eyebrow, "Um, Barry? Where did you get a sandwich?"
Barry took a bite and looked at the kitchen supplies around him, "Hey, I'm stuck in a zombie apocalypse and surrounded by food. I needed something to calm me down." He took another bite and moaned with satisfaction, "Yum, Jill Sandwich," he teased.
Jill nudged her friend, a little smile on her face despite her situation, "Shut it Barry."
As the S.T.A.R.S fought for safety, the members of Umbrella Inc. were currently held up in the school's security room, watching the events unfold through the school's security monitors. They had just witnessed Jill's near-demise.
"Who the hell set that trap up?!" Wesker asked angerly.
"I think it was Alfred," Annette replied.
Wesker turned towards Alfred Ashford. He glared at the pompous boy sitting lazily nearby, "Alfred! Are you out of your freaking mind?! You could've killed her!"
Alred rolled his eyes, a little pout on his face, "Well I thought that was the point. To eliminate the S.T.A.R.S team for good."
"Right. Eliminate. As in put them out of commision. Break some bones. Turn them into RIAs. Scar them for life. I don't care. You don't crush them in a trash compactor!"
"Why?" Alfred asked with honest curiosity.
Wesker's mouth dropped open, eyes wide behind his shades, "What do you mean why?! Because we'll all go to jail! Taking over a public school and turning a bunch of children into mindless zombies is one thing, but murdering a little middle-class girl from the suburbs?! We'd be the top story on the news for weeks!"
Alexia snorted from her place next to her brother, "I swear, you common folk are always so concerned about the laws of your nation. When will you learn that the Ashfords are above trivial things such as laws."
Wesker stood up from his chair and stormed over to the Ashford siblings. He pointed an angry finger at them.
"No killing! Our goal here is to teach these popular punks a lesson. We're going to scare them, humiliate them, and make them wish they were never born. We can't do that if they're all grounded up into paste!"
"Ok you inferior hobble-dweller. No killing." Alexia conceded, getting increasingly annoyed with this commoner yelling in her face.
Alfred raised his hand, "Is maiming out of the question?"
Wesker brushed the question off with the wave of his hand, "Maim the heck out of them, I don't care."
Alfred clapped his hands happily, "Delightful!"
The door to the security office suddenly burst open, scaring the crap out of everyone as William and HUNK ran inside, "Wesker! There's a problem!" William screamed.
"Jesus! Birkin, what is it?" Wesker asked, trying to calm his racing heartbeat.
"Do you guys know Mr. Trevor?" William asked in a panic.
"The school superintendent?" Annette responded.
The boy nodded, "Yes. Well apparently his daughter showed up at the school for some reason. She found out what was going on and was planning on going to her dad to rat us out."
Wesker's eyes widened. No. They couldn't be found out so soon! The fun hadn't even begun yet. "Where is she now?"
"Lord Spencer was able to catch her before she could escape. He has her tied up with Mr. Marcus in his shed behind the school."
Wesker breathed a sigh of relief. Maybe he could salvage this yet. With Birkin in tow, the two wasted no time hauling their butts over to Spencer's shed. They arrived to find Lisa Trevor, a girl three years their senior, tied to a pole with a cloth gag in her mouth. She glared at the two as they entered.
Albert smirked at the older girl, "Well well, Lisa Trevor. And how are you this fine evening?" Wesker mocked, pulling the cloth gag from her mouth.
"You little brats!" the eleven year old yelled. "When my daddy hears about this, he'll-mhmm!" Lisa was cut off as Wesker stuffed the gag back into her mouth.
He looked to Spencer, currently staggering to keep his balance with a bottle of rum in his greasy hands, "Good work Lord Spencer."
The drunk groundskeeper gave him a sloppy salute, "No problem Captain Crunch."
Wesker ignored their intoxicated leader as Birkin frowned towards the girl, "What do we do with her Wesker?" Lisa's eyes widened with fear when Wesker flashed her his most diabolical smirk.
"Well...I guess we can always use another monster."
Author's Notes: Man, people are getting knocked out left and right! Well, I couldn't exactly have a bunch of children dying on me. So when somebody is 'knocked out', it is pretty much the chibi equivalent to being dead. I believe the exception so far will be Richard Aikens. I think I will be using him for one more scene. Anyway, feel free to leave a review. Thanks.
