I don't own them, and I'm not making any money at this. If it seems incomplete, it's a drabble written for 15minutefic over at livejournal, and I could've gone on for at least another 15 minutes. The word was "solid"

Feet dangling into open sky, hands holding her hair up off her neck to allow the breeze, the only thing that felt real was the ledge she sat on. Everything had been up in the air lately, and she was enjoying her moment of solitude.

Hearing the click of the lock, she wrinkled her nose and tried to ignore it, closing her eye against the too-bright sun. His voice, however, wasn't so easily brushed aside.

"The wind won't hurt me. We're old friends." Letting her hair drop, she glanced over her shoulder. "You look ready to pounce. I'm not gonna fall."

"Or jump?"

Calling a wind to counterbalance her, she gripped the edge of the concrete in both hands. "If I was gonna jump, you would've found me like this." She leaned forward into the wind.

That fast he was there, arms around her waist, pulling her back against his chest. "Don't." His voice shook on that one word, sharp contrast to the solid anchor he'd been these last few months. "Don't even tease. If you fell ..."

Fujin sighed, leaning back against her knight, her lover, her best friend. "It's okay. I wouldn't do that now that I know ..."
