A/N: Well, I just started watching Avatar recently. And I think it's a pretty cool show… That being said, this is based on the dance that Aang and Katara share in "The Headband" episode. Is it just me, or does Aang seem strangely flirtatious and coy in that episode? A little OOC I thought… Anyways, I'm hoping that this little oneshot might cure some writer's block, while simultaneously give me some time off from studying.

Ambiguity

Perhaps it was the sound of the music… The feeling of normalcy that overtook him… The sense of belongingness that he had longed for… He reveled in the melodious rhythm that seductively filled the air around him as all his concerns and inhibitions slipped away.

It seemed to happen all at once… He was no longer the Avatar, Savior to all nations. He wasn't required to master all four elements and save the world. He wasn't even Aang. He was Kuzon, a normal kid at a normal party…

So, perhaps, then, it wasn't Aang that suddenly got the courage to waltz over to Katara's table, extend his hand, and beckon her with his eyes to join him on the dance floor. So out-of-character for our young air-bending Avatar to suddenly produce such a smoothness and air of confidence about him…

Perhaps, then, on this destined night… it was Kuzon that smiled slyly as he offered her this dance. New found confidence weaved its way into his step, and his eyes glittered with poise and assurance. Kuzon's smile lacked the goofy quality that so often accompanied Aang's, and his eyes held a certain shimmer of maturity that was perhaps brought out by the bright red headband covering that arrow.

Ah… but on this particular night those infamous arrows were hiding… and along with them, perhaps their owner.

Aang's blush and uncertainty around Katara vanished as Kuzon spoke words with such resounding confidence, "Take my hand."

And how Katara responded so quickly to those words… taking his hand and letting him lead her onto the dance floor…

Kuzon moved with such grace and poise, each step quick and light, yet determined and assured. Katara didn't know why, but she felt safe with him on the dance floor as all eyes turned towards the two.

"It's just you and me," he had said. Did Aang say that? Did he just elicit such confidence, while seductively narrowing his gaze at her, causing her face to heat up to the color of crimson? Or was it Kuzon's assertion and coolness that overtook the moment, allowing her blush to deepen before his very eyes?

Before she was ready for it to, the dance ended… and she found herself looking into his very gray eyes once more. She hadn't realized Aang was such a good dancer, but surprises can be rather refreshing… Or perhaps, it was Kuzon who was the dancer… Moving her along the dance floor with such grace, allowing her mind to wander with 'what-if's…

Not that it mattered… Because she felt assured as she looked into those wonderful gray eyes… It was indeed, Aang. But she did hope, that perhaps Aang might let Kuzon's charm and grace show through, even when the arrows weren't hiding.
