(A/N) This is just a random fluffy fic I came up with off the top of my head. I love Hitsuhina so I attempted this little one shot. R&R (plz). :

Disclaimer: I own Clorox Bleach but not this Bleach.

Stargazing

Stargazing was one of Captain Hitsugaya's hobbies. Of course, one would never guess that from his stoic and impassive behavior. But it was true, though he didn't get much time for it because of all the paperwork he had to do (most of which was his vice-captain's).

This night was different though. He had finished all of his work and had gotten on Matsumoto's case about hers.

And tonight was a perfect night.

It was cloudless and clear. You could see the slight outline of the new moon, but nothing else illuminated the night sky except for the twinkling orbs of ice and dust.

"Rangiku said you'd be up here, Shiro-kun."

Toshiro moved his head to the side to see Momo walking towards him. They were currently on the roof of the main office in the Squad 10 barracks. Toshiro was lying on his back with his arms crossed behind his head.

"For the umpteenth time, it's Captain Hitsugaya," Toshiro said slowly, as if talking to a small child.

"But Shiro-kun…" Momo said, giving the captain the best puppy-dog face she could muster.

Toshiro only sighed. No matter how many times he said it, it never got through. But it didn't bother him much anymore. He actually liked it.

"Fine then, bed-wetter Momo," he said.

Momo pouted. She seemed like she was about to say something, but shut her mouth. Instead, she laid down next to Toshiro. He blushed at their closeness.

"Hey, see that star. It's name is Sirius. It's the brightest star in the sky."

Toshiro looked up to see the star Momo was pointing to. It definitely was bright.

"And over there. That's the big dipper."

"I guess you know a thing or two about stars," Toshiro commented.

"You're not the only one who likes to stargaze," she replied, giggling.

Then she became serious.

"Don't you wish you could be a star?" she sighed.

"Yes, I'd just love to be a gaseous mass floating in space," Toshiro said wryly.

"That's not what I meant," Momo pouted. "I mean, stars are the brightest things in the cosmos."

"No, the moon is," Toshiro interrupted, causing a vein to appear in Momo's forehead.

He seemed to enjoy annoying her.

"Well, the moon's different. It waxes and wanes, and sometimes, like tonight, it doesn't even shine. But stars always shine no matter what. Though clouds may cover them at time, they always come back."

She sighed, then added," I wish I was like the stars."

"Looks like someone has star envy," Toshiro said, turning on his side.

"I guess I wish I could shine as brightly as them," Momo muttered sadly.

"You don't think you shine as brightly as the stars?" Toshiro asked.

"No, I don't."

"Then you must be blind."

Toshiro placed his hands on the sides of her face and kissed her. After Momo adjusted to the feeling, she kissed back. As it deepened, time seemed to pass by too quickly. And they were both disappointed to end the kiss so soon.

"The stars have nothing on you."

(A/N) Isn't it romantic? Kissing under the stars… -ahem- anyway… this is just a little prep before I actually write a hitsuhina story. I want to see how good I am at it. So, R&R plz.
