Author's Note: In light of reading a few DN scans...You don't need to know the fandom to read this, I'll explain along the way.

The Notebook
Lanhua paused in the middle of her walking, picking up the object, and brushed some dirt of the front of the discarded notebook, squinting at the bright silver inscription on the front. "Death Note? I wonder who dropped it here...and who would name a notebook something like 'Death Note'..."
Gracefully, her long, slender fingers flipped the front cover aside, and the butterfly continued to read. "Whoever's name is written inside this notebook shall die. The owner was obviously a very disturbed person...maybe one of the Mermaid Princesses...ah, I wonder if it actually works? I mean, it's not very likely, but - "
"It works, dear." Lanhua nearly jumped, turning swiftly to see the cloaked figure. "You can call me Ryuuk. I'm the death god."
"...Alright then, Ryuuk-sama...so you're telling me that if I write down the name of any given person, they will die?" Lanhua was incredulous, her cherry eyes shining with wonder.
Ryuuk snickered slightly, a rasping sound coming from his chest. "Ryuuk-sama...that sounds nice. Anyway, yes – but you have to know their face," he added quickly. "Then you can scribble down their name."
"Wow, I really need ink."
"I've never had anybody more willing to use the Death Note," Ryuuk admitted, gaping as the sparkly, sugar-filled fairy girl grabbed at the air and died a slow, painful death. "Most people whine and insist that it's murder for weeks before they finally use it."
Lanhua finished the last stroke of Alala's name, smirking. "Well, I'm not exactly normal. She deserved that one, too. Got in my way last time when I was so close to defeating the Mermaid Princesses..."
"You keep moaning about these 'Mermaid Princess' characters," Ryuuk mentioned after a day of killing off Dark Lovers, excluding Yuuri because Lanhua had a soft spot for the HippoxYuuri love. "Why don't you hit them, too?"
Lanhua turned, blushing slightly. "Well, I would...but then it's only logical to kill off all seven at once, and I have no idea how you spell Hanon's name in kanji or kana, and you'd be watching me stare at the notebook after I write down Lucia's name..."
"..." So much for her being my favorite Death Note-holder so far.
After a few hours, in which they killed a few teachers and attained school papers where Hanon had spelled her name correctly, the seven Mermaid Princesses died.
Michel then took over the world, with the aid of Lanhua and Lady Bat, until Lanhua got bored (about two years later) and killed them both off with her trusty Death Note, which hadn't been employed during those two years. Ryuuk was filled with lots of sick glee and Lanhua ruled the world alone, as far as her subjects knew...
And everyone (except Lucia, Hanon, Rina, Caren, Noel, Coco, Seira, Sara, SheShe, MiMi, Gakuto, Maria, Izuru, Eriru, Nikora, Madame Taki, Momo-chan, Kura-chan, Kaito, Ryo, Nagisa, Masahiro, Subaru, Rihito, Michal, Mitsuki-sensei, Michel, Alala, Lady Bat, and Aqua Regina, who now had no successor) lived happily ever after.
...So basically, only Lanhua and Ryuuk were happy at the end. Funny that.
