Having a little fun with Lorelai and Luke… can't you tell?
At first, Lorelai cursed herself for not going to the store earlier, Truth was it had been a long night and she couldn't have looked more disheveled than she did now. She decided something like crackers and sprite might take the edge off, although when she checked the cupboards and fridge in her house she found it void of the items that she desperately needed.
The only thing she could do now was go take a turn in public, since Rory was off to college and Luke was busier than ever at the diner. For once, she didn't want to bug either. Instead she had to remind herself that everything she was feeling was just going to blow over—probably just something that she had been lucky enough to catch. But nothing that she couldn't handle.
A trip to Taylor's store would be no less unusual than if it was another day that she was going shopping, although with less items. Her appearance now could not be considered haunting, with the fact that unless she was picking up something for work, she wouldn't have dressed up any way just for the pure joy to restock her fridge.
She fit right in, walking down the isles. With a small box of crackers and cream cheese, being hardly noticed as she walked around was when she spotted Luke Dane. She couldn't help but stroll up to him, Luke hardly paying attention made it all worth while to say, "Fancy meeting you here."
Of course he jumped slightly, turning around and eyeing her choice of items. "Geez, Lorelai. Don't do that." She smiled, her headache momentarily fading.
"But what is the fun of not using the old saying?" Her grin increased as he rolled his eyes then turned back to pick up a few more bags of bread.
Slight pause, "What's up with the crackers?" He asked, nodding towards the crackers in her hand and gathering three more loafs.
"Nothing. What's up with the bread?" There was a slight amused look on her face.
He rolled his eyes again. "I'm glad that you find this so amusing. I ran out of bread at the diner."
"And I ran out of crackers. Explanations covered." She teased, rounding the corner and heading down the isle before picking out a box of sprite then stacking the crackers, cream cheese and aspirin on top of eachother— lifting it up and heading to the checkout counter.
