Yomi's Stupidity

By: Akku-chan

Yusuke Urameshi turned his world upside down, smashed everything Yomi believed in into tiny, itty bitty little pieces, and somehow managed to get away with it.

Oddly enough, even though he wrecked everything Yomi had worked so hard for in the past five hundred years, it didn't leave Yomi feeling helpless and lost. In fact, the former king of Gandhara believed that the other had ended up making his life turn out for the better.

Yomi had once said to Kurama, "He gave me a sense of peace I never had before," and he had meant every word of it to the fox.

Peace, something Yomi had rarely experienced. It was kind of ironic, considering the mazoku found more joy in fighting than anyone else Yomi had ever met. Then again, Yusuke had this uncanny ability of changing the people around him. He somehow managed to help change demon world in general, which was an extraordinary feat in of itself. The way everyone fought now had less of a blood thirsty edge to it and more of a competitive streak, which he saw displayed in the Makai Tournament, almost as if to defy the old traditions of blood and gore.

At first, Yomi had thought him a naïve fool, brashly announcing his arrival and demanding tea while he was at it, even throwing an insult into it. He had thought him a brain dead retard when he proposed the tournament idea.

Yomi had been blind sided by how everyone else agreed with said brain dead retard, even Mukuro, even Kurama.

The boy had gone mad and somehow took Makai down with him, including all the supposedly logical, smart demons.

Yomi had resolved himself against falling into the same fate.

He didn't know exactly when, but felt that he began to change somewhere between the proposal and the tournament. The fight between him and Yusuke, however, was what finally made it into stone. Needless to say but he failed in his resolve.

Now that the tournament was over, Yomi knew two things about the mazoku: Yusuke really was an idiot but had damn good instincts that got him out for the better in any situation he encountered.

Yomi found himself not caring if he turned into one of Urameshi's fools. Everyone else was doing it, like it was the newest fad or something, and no one ever dared called him unfashionable, though many would say he was color blind behind his back. Besides, it was simply easier to give in now than futilely resist and eventually succumb anyway.

"It's that impetuous spirit that does it to me," Yomi had admitted to Yusuke once, right before he ripped off his sleeves and smashed his fists into the other's face.

That had been satisfying. There was something about Yusuke Urameshi that made you like him despite all odds, but there was also something that made you want to break his nose. However, he would hit you back twice as hard.

Everyone who ever fought against him knew from experience. Yomi was still sporting the bruises.

Maybe they were all masochists, even Yusuke.

Well, Yomi didn't mind going back for more.

The End

Yep, that's it. Sorry, I just HAD to tack the last bit in. Has anyone else noticed how Yomi went from calling him "Raizen's heir" to "Mr. Urameshi" to "Yusuke"? Getting a bit comfortable there, aren't we?

THERE SHOULD BE MORE YOMI X YUSUKE FICS!

I'll probably make an attempt at it in the near future, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Reviews are sweet, but so is candy.
