Missing scene in 4x12 Power. Oneshot. Don/Megan conversation.

With her back to the door, Megan stirs her coffee with her spoon, the silver spoon clinks against her dark blue coffee mug. Working out the kinks out of her neck, she picks up her mug; wrapping her hand around the handle she levels the cup so her lips are touching the rim.

She is in desperate need of coffee.

Now after several hours from sitting in her chair, she inhales the deep aroma of coffee. For five thirty in the morning the quick release awakens her slightly. The office is quiet and dark, concluding that everyone had left hours ago. The soft glow of light from her desk lamp emits a soft overshadowing glow over the area, beside the light that's on in the break room.

As she tips the mug to take a sip, she keenly picks up that she is no longer the only one in the building. Hearing the elevator ding and the metal doors open, she wonders who would be here this early. Well besides herself, who got caught up in her work and the stack of files on her desk could only prove that line of reasoning.

Turning around cautiously, intuition kicks in as she sets her coffee on the counter. Quickly moving to turn off the lights in the break room she steps back as she hears the footsteps getting closer. As he passes by, she quickly recognizes the tall figure. Softly she locates the switch to the break room and switches it on before making her way back over to the counter, taking that needed sip of coffee.

The footsteps back track and Don stops at the frame of the door where he sees Megan now cradling a hot cup of coffee. His eyes steer to the fresh pot of coffee beside her—he raises his eyebrow, freshly made. "Have you been here all night?" He enters the room with care as she turns around.

Her lips break off the rim of the cup, the cool morning air lingering. Resting her back against the counter she takes another considerate sip, "Yeah. I was looking through some old files and evidence and got caught up. Knowing that I'd just have to be right back here in a couple hours, one to nothing I opted to stay here." She takes another long sip as she watches him pour his own cup of coffee.

"You know we're close to finding him." He points out, partially trying to read her emotions as he takes a sip. Her tone is laced with vengeance that plunges deep into her past. Cocking his brow, he sets his coffee on the table, her body language alerting him to being on edge.

"And when we do, I'm going to be right there waiting."
