The Covenant's Sin

Author's Note So, 27 reviews for the last chapter. I'm quite pleased! I'm just going to answer some anonymous reviews before beginning...

Daley: I'm sorry you thought Caleb was being portrayed as a loser. It wasn't my intention to portray him as a loser, but law school is pretty tough and there's assumingly a lot of hard work to go with it, so I felt it would make sense for him to have very little time. As for him being oblivious to Sarah's activities, you have to remember he trusts his "brothers" and he trusts Sarah, seeing as how she seemed to be the trustworthy, innocent girl he'd met at the beginning of his senior year. I'm glad you've been enjoying it otherwise, though, and I hope you continue to read!

Ella J: I think that Tyler votes thing having 15 and then 11 may have been a glitch on my part, not updating the polls right or something, because I do just stack votes onto those from the last chapter. Also, I'd like to thank you for your dedication to this story. It makes me so happy that you love it so much that you come back to it and review for an earlier chapter just so you can tell me your thoughts after re-reading it again! Hahaha! You're so silly :P I do really appreciate it, though, and I do really value your loyalty, despite my shoddy updating.

DacosLove3: You can review every chapter! I just stack them one on top of the other every chapter!

Thank you all for your support! I very much appreciate it and here are the polls:

Reid: 51

Tyler: 45

Ouch, Tyler's really taking a beating here... I may have to chalk it up to you all being riled up over the last Reid-centred chapter and give Tyler an opportunity to shine ;) Also, remember everyone, a vote for both is really a vote for neither! I know it's extremely painfully hard to choose between the two, but I'm cruel, so I'm asking you to. I'd love to write more of the three of them, but threesomes are so hard to write without everything getting awkward or totally out of character. We'll see what I come up with, though. I hope you all enjoy this chapter!

Last Chapter "Yeah, um, my friend just woke up, can I call you back?" Sarah managed to get out in a voice she hoped sounded normal as Reid's fingers trailed up her thigh.

"Yeah, no problem, sorry again, for waking you," Caleb said, "I love you! Bye!"

"Bye!" she said quickly and hit the end button on her phone, letting it drop and grabbing the head of the boy trailing kisses down her stomach.

"You!" she hissed.

He gave her his most arrogant smirk and said, "Me."

"Definitely gotten naughtier," she decided and his smirk widened to a grin as his fingers plunged into her and her back arched off the bed.

Chapter 20

Sarah finally withdrew from Reid's room around four o'clock, ravenous and a bit sore from her nightly escapades. The blond trailed behind her, having donned a pair of track pants and a button up shirt, he left carelessly unbuttoned.

"You should make me pancakes," he suggested, playfully tugging at her hair as they marched into the kitchen.

"I should make you pancakes?" Sarah repeated doubtfully, "And just what has you so convinced that I can even make pancakes?"

"You made chocolate chip ones when we first moved in," Reid shot back with a grin, adding, "I'd like extra chocolate chips please. I think I deserve it after that performance."

Sarah tossed him an exasperated look. "Fine, but let me put some clothes on before-" The words died in her mouth as the door opened quickly and Tyler shuffled in, rubbing his eyes and yawning.

"Hey, guys, what's-" he began greeting them, before finally catching sight of them in their half clothed state. Sarah was frozen in place, however, Reid recovered rather quickly and opened a cupboard to pull down a mixing bowl.

"I'll start the batter, or are you going to make them from scratch?" he asked Sarah calmly. Sarah sputtered for a moment, face flaming, feeling like a deer caught in headlights.

"Well, I take it you two had a better morning than I did," Tyler said after a moment of silence.

Reid gave him a strange look, while Sarah remained mute. "What are you talking about?" he asked Tyler.

Tyler mirrored Reid's look. "You're a good liar. She-" he pointed at Sarah "-is not... Even if she isn't actually saying anything. I know you slept together, your shirt is on the floor." He pointed at Reid's discarded shirt they'd neglected to collect from the kitchen floor the night before.

Sarah's jaw dropped and Reid laughed, looking at her apologetically. "Well, I tried," he said, before turning to Tyler. "Want some pancakes?"

"Reid!" Sarah gasped.

"What? You aren't making pancakes anymore?" Reid asked, confused.

"I want pancakes..." Tyler whined, looking around sadly at Sarah.

Sarah sputtered some more before finally spitting out, "That's all you have to say?"

Tyler and Reid looked at one another before directing their attention back at her. Tyler shrugged. "What do you want? A cookie?"

Sarah stared at them for a moment longer. Finally she shook her head and continued on her way to her room. "Fine, I'll make pancakes."

"Yes!" one of the boys hissed and she heard them high five as she shut her bedroom door to change.

She made pancakes that morning and the three of them spent a rather ordinary day in the apartment. Reid did laundry, Sarah vacuumed, Tyler nursed his hangover on the couch with pizza and went through the bills. By midnight, the three of them were exhausted and went to their respective bedrooms for the night without a single awkward encounter since the morning. Sarah was thankful for the lack of questions on Tyler's part and the lack of mauling on Reid's part, but she still found the whole situation strange. As she was pondering the whole experience her phone rang.

"Hello?" she answered, without checking the caller ID.

"Hey, I hope I'm not waking you," Caleb's voice came across the line, jarring Sarah from her reverie.

"No, not at all," she insisted, "I'm just hanging out in my room. What's up? How are you?"

"Fine, I was just checking in. I wanted to make sure everything was okay. You never called me back this afternoon."

Shit. "Oh my god! I'm so sorry! I totally forgot. We got caught up doing housework and I made breakfast and… I don't know. I'm so sorry!"

Caleb chuckled. "That's okay. I know how that can get. Did your friend make it home okay?"

"What?" Sarah asked, confused.

Silence followed on the other end for a second, before Caleb elaborated, "The friend that stayed over last night. Were you still drunk when I called?" He chuckled a bit and Sarah breathed a sigh of relief.

"Oh yeah, right! Yeah, she got home fine, thanks."

"I haven't heard about any of your friends. I feel bad that I didn't realize you had even made any! I've been so busy with all my own stuff that I just…. Didn't think about it… I'm sorry. Tell me about your friends."

Sarah smiled. Caleb was so sweet. "Well, I've really only made one. Her name is Rachel and she's in most of my classes. She's majoring in business, too. But she took me to this party last night and some of the people seemed pretty cool…"

She spent the next half hour talking to Caleb, telling him about Rachel and the party and Tyler's battleshots failure. He never asked how she got home or what she did when she arrived there, and she never told him. By the time they said goodbye it was almost one a.m. and with an early morning start for school the next day, Sarah dragged herself to her bed without a second thought. As she drifted off to sleep her thoughts drifted to her previous twenty four hours; her previous night, the day with Reid and Tyler, her conversation with Caleb, and she vaguely registered that the twinge of guilt she felt over her betrayal was smaller than it had been last time.

It felt like no sooner had she closed her eyes, than Reid's voice burst through the haze of sleep, "Sarah! We need to go!" Her door banged open and Sarah threw the covers over her head to block out the sunlight streaming through her window and Reid's voice as he continued, "You're still in bed? Seriously? I hope you're screwing with me! I've got a quiz in twenty minutes. We have to go! Now!"

Sarah groaned. "Just go, I'll get Tyler to drive me." She felt groggy, like she hadn't slept at all.

"Tyler's gone. He has class an hour before us. It's Monday, remember? Let's go!" Sarah felt something pelt her in the backside and she peeked out over her comforter, only to have a t-shirt thrown in her face.

"Reid," she whined, clawing her way out of the fabric and sitting up to glare at the other blond. He was standing by her desk, shoving her laptop and binders into her bag.

"Get dressed," he commanded. "What classes do you have today? I'll pack your bag."

She regarded him steadily for a moment, but his back remained to her, shuffling things around on her desk. He realized her class schedule was pinned above her desk and he glanced at it and then back at her.

"Well? Let's go!" he commanded again. Groaning, Sarah basically fell out of her bed and went to her dresser to pull out some clean underwear and a fresh pair of socks, collected the jeans and t-shirt Reid had so ceremoniously graced her with, and went to her large closet to change. She silently lamented the lack of a shower and breakfast, but decided she couldn't do much about either, and joined Reid back in her room. He had her bag packed and was jiggling his leg nervously, waiting for her to emerge. She dragged a brush through her hair and threw it into a pony tail and let Reid drag her out of the apartment.

They were almost at his truck before she noticed she'd forgot something especially important. "Shit! I left my bag upstairs!" she exclaimed and made to turn around, but Reid grabbed her arm, forcing her to turn to face him, where he held her bag up to show her and shooed her in the direction of his vehicle.

"Thank you," she said as he passed it to her, once they were in the cab of the truck. He only nodded and started the engine, peeling out of the parking lot. They got to school in record time, Reid pausing only long enough to ensure Sarah was out of the truck before he locked it. He took off running, yelling that he'd see her at lunch, and he rounded a corner of one of the buildings, leaving Sarah to shuffle zombie-like to her class alone. As much as she'd hoped nothing would change after their little indiscretion, she couldn't help but be a little surprised that nothing had.

When she arrived at her first class late, only the students closest to the door noticed. She smiled apologetically, looking around for Rachel. She caught a flash of Rachel's red hair a few rows down and to the right, with an empty seat next to her. She quietly made her way to her friend and dropped down as quietly as she could.

"Where have you been?" Rachel whispered to her.

"Sorry, I overslept. I woke up to Reid barging into my room and throwing clothes at me."

"His clothes or yours?"

Sarah threw her friend an exasperated look, which Rachel countered with a sly smile. "Mine," she answered. "I don't even know where he found them… I don't think I've seen this t-shirt in years…"

"Well, as far as rude awakenings go, it couldn't have been too bad," Rachel continued, "He's very easy on the eyes."

Sarah sighed quietly. "That is beside the point. Anyways, how was the rest of your night Saturday? I didn't hear from you yesterday."

"Ugh," Rachel groaned, "I should have left with you. We drank until 8 a.m. I don't think I was sober until this morning… Made for a very interesting Sunday dinner with the family, though."

"I bet," Sarah chuckled lowly, "I can't believe you drank that late. I was in bed an hour before then!"

"An hour? What did you do for three hours? You left Ricky's at around 4, I thought. Did you get lost or something?"

Sarah kicked herself mentally and smiled tightly. "Something like that. I think we ended up in Narnia."

"Mmm, is that what you're calling that delicious blond's bedroom?"

Sarah swivelled her head so quickly she was sure she gave herself whiplash. Rachel's sly smile curved her lips once more as Sarah stared at her in shock and horror.

"No!" she finally managed to sputter out.

"Thou protesteth too much," Rachel teased.

"How is it too much? I only said 'no'," Sarah retorted.

"Mmhmm," Rachel hummed, unconvinced. "I thought you had a boyfriend?"

"I do."

"Does he know you're banging your roommate?"

"Rachel!"

"Oh, come on! You were looking at him like a fat kid looks at a Twinkie."

"I resent that comparison… Especially since that makes me the fat kid."

"Well, call it what you like, but you totally boned him Saturday night."

"He was the one doing the boning," Sarah retorted and then slapped a hand over her mouth in horror. She couldn't believe she'd just blurted that out! Rachel burst out laughing and the professor and several other students glared at them menacingly.

"I'm sorry girls, are we interrupting you?" the professor questioned, annoyed, "Perhaps you'd be more comfortable outside?" With that he gestured from them to the door, as a clear indication that they were being kicked out, and continued with his lecture. Shit. Defeated, Sarah packed her things back up into her bag and preceded Rachel out of the lecture hall.

"Operations is my least favourite class anyways," Rachel confided as the door fell shut behind them and Sarah just shook her head, heading in the direction of the cafeteria. She was ravenous with hunger at this point. Rachel was beside her within seconds, matching her stride as she missioned onwards.

"So… Was it good?" she asked, continuing their forbidden conversation. Sarah ignored her, forging ahead, mind in an uproar over her blabber mouthing. "Oh, come on, its not like I'm going to judge you. I don't know your boyfriend or them or even really you that well. Plus, it'll probably take a load off your mind being able to talk to somebody about it." Still Sarah remained silent. Rachel was not fazed. "When was the last time you saw your boyfriend?"

As this seemed a reasonable question, Sarah answered shortly, "When he moved me in at the end of August."

"So almost two months ago?" Rachel asked, surprised.

"Yeah, he's studying law at Harvard, so he doesn't have a lot of free time," she explained.

"Well after two months, any sex is good sex," Rachel reasoned and Sarah groaned. They were back on this subject, then.

"We should probably just drop it," Sarah attempted to sound nonchalant about the whole thing and apparently failed, as Rachel laughed aloud.

"Doubtful. I can't believe you won't tell your closest Pennsylvania friend about your steamy encounter with a blond haired blue eyed god!"

"I thought you just said you didn't even really know me," Sarah pointed out.

"Well, this will help me to get to know you a lot better…"

Sarah sighed again. "No." They were at the cafeteria by now and Sarah got in line, Rachel following faithfully along beside her.

"Who else knows?" Rachel asked.

"No one," Sarah answered nervously, looking around the cafeteria for anyone listening.

"Not even your other roommate?" Rachel pressed.

"Well, yeah, but other than that, no." Sarah squeezed her eyes shut and wished she could restart the day.

"Hey," a familiar voice broke through her mildly suicidal thoughts and she peeled her eyes open to find Tyler standing in front of her, smiling. This couldn't get any worse. "What's up?" he asked.

"She was just about to tell me about her steamy roommate encounter," Rachel offered, before Sarah could say anything. She put her head in her hands and groaned loudly, but not before catching Tyler's look of astonishment when his eyes immediately turned to her.

"Oh, was she?" he said slowly.

"No, I wasn't," Sarah said firmly, looking up at him. "Will you take me home?"

"Aww," Rachel whimpered playfully, but Tyler watched her steadily and nodded.

"Yeah, come on," he agreed, putting his hand on her arm and guiding her out of line. "It was nice seeing you again, Rachel," he added sincerely, his hand moving to Sarah's back, guiding her out the cafeteria doors and across the school grounds to the parking lot.

"You okay?" he asked her quietly as they walked.

"Yeah, it's not a big deal. I just really want to go home and sleep."

"Okay," Tyler accepted as they came upon his Hummer. He followed her to the passenger's side and held the door for her to climb in. She thanked him as he closed the door and took a deep breath to calm her pounding heart. It was official. Someone else knew she'd cheated on Caleb, not to the fullest extent, but still. Their drive home was slow and silent. There was construction on their route home and traffic still hadn't cleared up.

As they entered the apartment, Sarah dumped her things by the door and beelined to the couch. "Thank you soooo much, Tyler," she said appreciatively, flopping down on the couch and burying her face in the cushions.

"Yeah, no problem," he acquiesced, dropping his back pack beside hers and dumping his keys on the side table by the door. He went into the kitchen and dug around in the fridge. "Want a beer?" he called.

Sarah smiled. "Its barely 10 o'clock," she called back.

There was a pause and then, "So is that a yes or a no? I'm having one either way."

"Don't you have to go back to school?"

"College isn't really about school… Its' mostly about alcohol and how much of it you can consume. So?"

She debated, which in itself was a bad sign at 10 a.m., and eventually answered "No, thanks."

"Suit yourself."

She heard the clink of a bottle, the spritz following the popping of the lid, footsteps. Her feet were lifted off the couch and Tyler sunk down in their place, resettling them on his lap.

"So you want to tell me how that all happened?" he asked after another moment of silence, taking a swig out of the green bottle.

"No," Sarah answered, words muffled by the couch cushion that she had not, up until this point, been able to extract her face from. Another moment of silence followed, another swig.

"Are you going to tell me anyways?" Tyler proposed. Sarah sighed and flipped slowly over onto her back, looking firmly at the ceiling.

"It was an accident," she offered, fiddling with the hem of her t-shirt nervously.

"An accident," Tyler repeated, to which Sarah nodded. "How?" he pressed.

And then the whole story spilled out of her mouth, like word vomit, it just kept coming and coming and coming. She thought it would never end. "And then she said I totally boned him Saturday night and I said that he had actually been the one doing the boning," she finished, eliciting a laugh from Tyler, bouncing her legs on his lap.

"That's funny," he commented, tipping the last of his beer into his mouth.

"It's not funny," Sarah insisted angrily.

"Hey, look, it's not that bad," Tyler reasoned. "Do you think she's going to tell Caleb?"

"She doesn't even know Caleb."

"And do you think she's going to tell anyone else?"

"I don't know… Probably not."

"So what's the problem? Its no different than me knowing you banged Reid, right?"

Sarah fixed the brunette with a look and declared sarcastically, "It's a little bit different."

"Hey, if sleeping with her will make you feel better, be my guest. From what Ricky told me, she's a bit wild. But I want to see it."

Sarah groaned again and threw her hands over her face, deciding not to dignify his comment with an answer.

"Hey, why don't you go change that t-shirt and I'll grab a couple movies and we can hang out here today. You don't have any reason you need to be at school today?" Wordlessly, Sarah shook her head no and Tyler squeezed her foot as he said "Me either. Let's go."

Sarah sat up to do as she was bid, then paused. "Why do I have to change the t-shirt?" she questions, confused.

Tyler raised an eyebrow at her and retorted with, "Have you looked in a mirror today? I don't know where you found that shirt, but its way too small and see through and I'm pretty sure there's a hole in the back of your collar. Did you get dressed in the dark this morning?"

Sarah's jaw dropped and she bolted into the bathroom. Looking in the mirror, she discovered Reid had somehow found a shirt she'd worn as a high school freshman, before her chest had expanded and was forced to work far too hard to contain them. The hem was even riding up a bit from its efforts. And Reid had let her go to school like this? Wow… Just wow.

"I'm gonna kill him," she growled as she crossed the main room back to her bedroom. Tyler just laughed as he cracked open another beer.
