Forever: Yzak and Shiho

In his office aboard the Voltaire Command Yzak Joule sat at his desk contemplating on the battle against the Requiem and his recent relations with his Major, Shiho Hahnenfuss. They had originally met a few times when they were children and even spoke while attending the ZAFT academy one Maius 1. Then there was graduation and his Assignment to the Zaft Special Forces and the raid on Heliopolis and she another unit. He didn't think anything of it until by happen stance they met a few months later while she was doing research for the beam weapon system for the new CGUE DEEP arms.
She had been in need for help completing her YFX-200 CGUE D.E.E.P. Arms and he offered his help willingly and the two had been good friends since. However near the end of the Jachin Due battles he realized the potential for a future relationship.
When the war had ended he asked and she accepted. They had continued their secretive relationship for a year and a half until his temporary promotion the PLANT Supreme High Council and her subsequent transfer to the War of the USSA. They'd made a promise to keep relations. As hard as it was he preoccupied himself in his free time to find an engagement ring for her and to seek her father's blessing.
And now here he was in Command of his own ship and she on his team once again he opened the red velvet box in front of him and fingered the Tiffany's brilliant diamond ring before pulling it out and returning the box to his desk drawer.
He slammed the button on his comm. "Major Hahnenfuss report to my office immediately."
Shiho Raised and eyebrow and switched the pressure washer off before heading out of the hanger. Dearka called from the cockpit of his Zaku Phantom. "I wonder what he wants."
She sighed in mock annoyance. "With our beloved Commander who knows."
The buzzer for the door sounded. "Enter." The normally bitchy ass commander called closing his hand around the ring.
Shiho entered that turned to lock the door smiling brightly "You wanted to see me." She moved across the room and into his arms.
"Shiho." He kissed her roughly. "It's been way to long since we've done this." She enjoyed these moments behind closed doors when her lover's true colors showed, where there was no one but them.
"Six months Love." She frowned, sensing tension. "What's wrong Yzak?"
"Nothing." He closed his eyes briefly than opened them to meet hers. "We've been together for going on two years and I am not okay with just that anymore."
She felt her blood run cold. "What do you mean?"
"What I am saying is that I want something more." He revealed the ring and she gasped. "I was going to wait until after the war to ask this but seeing is how things have taken a turn for the worse I want to now. Shiho marry me. We wouldn't have to right away but promise me."
She smiled in relief. "Yes, When ever you're ready just say the words."
He slid the ring onto her finger and pulled her into a tight hug. "I may not ever say it but I love you just please don't go and get yourself killed I don't think I would survive.
