The Year That Never Was.

Epilogue.

6 Months Later.

"You can't go dressed like that."

"Why not?"

"Because it's a wedding. You have to wear something special to a wedding."

"So why can't I where this? It's special."

"Jack you wear it every day."

"But…"

"Just wear the suit Jack, he made me wear one so you can too."

"Fine."

The suits Ianto had bought the three of them looked amazing on each of them and even Jack had to admit that. Despite looking very much the same there were subtle differences in the cuts and the design of each. Their shirts were all different shades of blue, Jack a dark blue, Ianto a medium and Owen a light blue. Ianto had chosen ties the same colour at their jackets with navy blue stripes.

"Ianto how do you tie this bloody thing?" Owen asked.

"Yeah, how do you tie it?" Jack echoed, both of them holding their ties.

"Don't you know how to tie a tie?" Ianto asked with a frown straightening his in the mirror. His eyes were drawn to the prosthetic hand, only recently covered with a skin like fabric. It was an amazing piece of technology. Not only did it function as a normal hand but Jack had helped Tosh install similar technology to his wrist strap into the wrist and palm of his hand. It was an amazing asset not to mention a cool toy.

"It won't go right," Owen grumbled.

"What he said," Jack pointed to Owen. Ianto sighed heavily and walked over to the handsome pair, quickly and efficiently tying them for them.

"You two are impossible," he said softly with a shake of his head.

"But you love us," Jack pointed out confidently.

"Yes I do," Ianto said calmly. After six moths their three-way relationship was now the most natural thing in the world. Owen had sold his flat and moved in with Ianto. Jack kept his little room in the hub for late nights but moved into Ianto's as well. After a while no one thought of it was Ianto's flat, they thought of it was their flat. Of course they'd had rough patches just like any normal relationship does but they'd worked through them, guided by their love for each other. A love that was still growing with each and every day they spent together. "Now hurry up or we'll be late and Gwen will never forgive us, especially considering you're the best man Jack."

"Why is that again?" Owen asked.

"Because I'm special," Jack said with a smug grin.

"No argument there," Owen muttered, earning himself a punch in the arm from Jack. Ianto stepped between them, urging them both out of the flat. "But really, why you and not one of Rhys' strange little friends? Could have sworn he hated you."

"He did…back when he thought I was shagging Gwen," Jack said bluntly. Ianto stared at him in shock, "But the incident with the alien meat, well he saw us together at the Hub and we talked. Gwen says when she asked if I could be the Best Man he hardly argued at all."

"It was Gwen's idea?" Owen asked.

"Yup. He chose which of her friends could be Bridesmaids as a compromise," Jack laughed as they got into Ianto's car, "She wouldn't let him pick their dresses though which is probably a good thing."

"No, she came to me for advise," Ianto said proudly as he pulled out of his assigned parking spot. The confused frowns he received encouraged him to explain further, "My dad was a master tailor, always wanted me to follow in his footsteps and taught me all he knew. I just didn't want to be a tailor."

"Oooooh," came from both his lovers and all he could do was smile, shake his head and focus on driving up to the big house the wedding was taking place. Jack had been complaining since they found out the weddings location about the location and he started up once again during the journey there. Owen tuned him out leaving Ianto to answer the questions and defend Rhys and Gwen's choice.

"Hey hang on, how's Tosh getting there?" Owen asked, suddenly realised that they should probably have been giving her a lift. But she hadn't asked for a lift or even dropped any hints.

"George is taking her," Ianto said calmly.

"George? As in…"

"George." Ianto nodded.

"Interesting," Owen nodded slowly, sinking slowly back into his seat. "How'd that happen? When did that happen?"

"She wanted to check on him," Ianto explained as he turned of the main road onto a smaller, far more windy road, "She told me that even though she knew in her mind that he would be back to his old life and would be perfectly fine she needed to see him to believe it."

"And?" Owen asked.

"Well from what I managed to bribe out of her with extremely good coffee and a shoulder massage she bumped into him accidentally on purpose and he asked her out on a date then and there," Ianto smiled into the rear view mirror, the smile aimed at Owen who grinned back.

"Go Tosh," he laughed.

"No wise cracks today though, he wouldn't understand them," Ianto warned.

"None today but plenty later on," Owen laughed loudly, looking forward to teasing Tosh at work for many days to come. "It'll be good to see George again, even if we have to be re-introduced and pretend not to know him." He'd had to pretend like that when he went to see Meagan. Dressed as a responsible Doctor he'd popped in during one of her check-ups. He'd flashed his Torchwood ID and had no questions asked. Talking with Meagan he found out about her husband and two other children, something she'd never mentioned during the year. On his way out he'd advised her Doctor to check for complications, telling him he just had a feeling something wasn't right. Checking back with the Doctor two months later Owen learned that there had been complications but both Meagan and the baby were ok.

"Are we there yet?" Jack asked.

"D'you know actually we are," Ianto said, turning into the drive of the large house the wedding was to take place in. Jack whooped happily as they parked, jumping out first. "Don't mess up your clothes."

"Yes mum."

"I hope he doesn't remind you of your mum Jack or that's just a whole new level of wrong," Owen laughed loudly. Jack made a face before joining in the laughter. Ianto locked his car before allowing his two lovers to take one of his arms each as they walked in through the front entrance.

"Did Gwen and Rhys warn their family and friends about our relationship?" Jack asked, "Because I will not spend today pretending. If I want to snog either of you today I will." Ianto laughed and nodded,

"She did warn them, told them that anyone who was uncomfortable with our relationship shouldn't come. Thankfully no one turned her down," Ianto answered. "Now as to your behaviour today Jack…"

"I'll be as good as gold."

"Yeah right!" Owen snorted.

The wedding ceremony seemed to fly by, Ianto glaring at Jack as he fidgeted restlessly beside Rhys right up until the moment Gwen started to walk down the aisle. Their teammate looked beautiful in her white dress, her hair done up in some intricate style with ringlets falling messily from it. Gwen wasn't the only one who looked beautiful; Tosh did too sat on the other side of Ianto in the front row of Gwen's side. For one horrible moment later on in the ceremony both Ianto and Owen were worried that Jack had either lost of forgotten the rings but it turned out he was just teasing the nervous couple. Gwen understandably looked ready to kill him.

"Ladies and Gentlemen could you please wait until you are outside of the church to throw your confetti," the vicar said right at the very end of the ceremony, just before Gwen and Rhys walked down the aisle. Owen, who had been almost ready to throw a handful of confetti made a noise of protest but followed the other guests outside so that they could throw the confetti as the newlyweds emerged.

Once all the confetti was thrown and the wedding photo's taken on the grand looking steps in front of the house, Gwen and Rhys posing with family first, then the bridesmaids, then the couples different groups of friends. By the end of it Rhys was complaining about his cheeks hurting from smiling too much.

The photo's done the wedding party moved to the bar, ordering many drinks as they waited to go in for the sit down meal. Jack wandered away from Gwen and Rhys, joining Ianto and Owen on the comfortable sofa they'd grabbed for themselves. As ever he was drinking only water while both his lovers had a beer each.

"You know there'll be toasts later," Ianto said conversationally, "You can't disrespect Gwen by not drinking then."

"I know, I'm giving a toast," Jack said with a grin, tapping his jacket pocket.

"Oh God Jack, there's nothing inappropriate in there is there?" Ianto asked.

"Not telling," Jack teased with an impish grin. Owen snorted into his drink,

"Looks like the speeches are going to be more fun than I was expecting."

Owen was right. Gwen's dad gave a silly and sentimental speech about his daughter, talking of how they had been worried she'd never marry, as she never had to time to fit a visit to them in let alone plan a whole wedding. And then it had been Jack's turn. And he'd been blunt; beginning his speech with the fact that he actually knew Gwen a lot better than Rhys but when they'd asked how could he say no? He talked of meeting Rhys, of flirting with Rhys and being told on no uncertain terms to keep his hands off…by both of them. This got many chuckled around the room as Gwen held Rhys' arm tightly telling Jack that order still stood. His speech continued to be funny and ended with a toast to the 'wonderful couple' as Jack put it.

Throughout the meal, far to fancy for both Jack and Owens taste the three waved at each other, Gwen having arranged the seating so that even though there were on two different tables they were facing each other. Tosh and George were sat together on a different table and every time Jack, Ianto or Owen looked at them they were deep in conversation, smiling at each flirtatiously. Just the way Ianto and Owen remembered.

"So you work with Gwen?" the person next to Ianto asked and he couldn't help but smile. PC Andy Davidson. Looking a lot healthier than the last time they'd met but then again that hadn't happened to the young police officer.

"Yes."

"Torchwood. All the spooky stuff."

"Yes."

"I've lost many a crime scene to you lot."

"Yes."

"Can you say anything other than yes?"

"Yes."

Andy sighed deeply and took a large drink from his beer, brought to the table from the bar. Owen had done the same but Ianto was happily sipping on the wine supplied with the meal. Andy sent a look full of longing towards Gwen before looking back to the far too fancy meal before him. Realisation dawned in Owens eyes.

"How long have loved Gwen?" he asked bluntly, leaning over Ianto to ask.

"Owen!" Ianto gasped, "Don't be so ru-"

"Since she became my partner. Thought she was wonderful the moment I met her," Andy answered honestly, "But she would never see me as anything other than a partner. And now here we are. You can report back to her later on."

"She knows?" Owen asked.

"She always knew," Andy shrugged.

"I'm sorry," Owen leant back in his chair, "And we won't be reporting back to her. We're not that cruel." Andy smiled sadly before holding his hand to Ianto,

"Andy Davidson."

"Ianto Jones," Ianto shook it with a smile, recognising the second chance for what it was. "And this is one of my partners Owen Harper." They shook hands too.

"You're not as bad as I thought Torchwood were," Andy admitted finally.

"And you're not as stupid as we thought you cops were," Owen said.

"Now that we're all acquainted properly and this time as friends how about we start spreading some gossip at this wedding. All weddings need good gossip. Got any stories about Gwen that done require the Official Secret's Act?" Andy asked with a wicked grin. Owen laughed loudly and across Ianto they began swapping stories about the bride.

The Disco that followed the meal was hilarious. People were of course getting drunker as the time went on and the dancing got sillier and sillier. Jack would alternate which lover he danced with, mainly dancing the slow dances so that there could be smooching. But there were a couple of fast songs he tried, not only with Ianto and Owen either. At one point he requested the Glenn Miller song 'In The Mood' and forced a rather terrified Tosh to dance the Jitterbug with him much to everyone else's amusement.

"Show off," Owen muttered as Jack returned to them after receiving a round of applause. He gulped down almost a full glass of water before answering,

"And proud of it." With that he grabbed Owen up for the next dance. Ianto was armed with the camera. Time passed quickly, everyone having a wonderful time and soon it was midnight and the party was over. Together they grabbed their jackets, shed in the heat of the room and went to say goodbye to Gwen and Rhys,

"Have a lovely honeymoon," Ianto gave her a kiss on the cheek and shook Rhys' hand, "It was a lovely day. You look beautiful."

"Don't get into too much trouble," Owen advised, giving a kiss to Gwen too. His face turned mock serious when he looked at Rhys, "Good luck." Gwen punched him in the arm.

"I don't want to see or hear from you for the entire two weeks ok? No phone calls to check up or get the gossip," Jack said to Gwen, pointing a finger at her.

"Please Jack, I'm not that sad."

"Never said you were sad, just said you weren't allowed to call," Jack said, leaning forwards to kiss her. Only he went for lips instead of cheek.

"Hey mate! That's my wife!" Rhys protested. Ianto and Owen who knew Jack best of all already knew what was going to happen even as Jack began to move. Both grinned as Rhys received almost exactly the same kiss as Gwen.

"There you are, now you've got no reason to be jealous of your wife. You've both had a kiss from me," Jack said calmly as Rhys went bright red and began wiping his lips with the back of his hand. And with that Jack turned, took his lovers hands and the three of them walked out of the hotel, all three feeling happier and more content than they ever had before.

A/N Soppy ending I know but I couldn't help it! Hope you enjoyed and I have to do this…GO ME! I COMPLETED A STORY!!
