Surprise of a Lifetime.
Lois was not ready to give up on her article. Since she had joined the Daily Planet she had been forced to work twice as hard as before; but she still had her own ideas of what needed to be published. She was deep into research on a new cosmetic surgery when she felt someone standing behind her. "This had better be important."
"Would the boyfriend you almost hate be important enough?" Oliver asked with a smile.
Lois turned around to face him. "What are you doing in town?"
"Time off from work." He pulled around a chair and sat next to her. "We caught a few breaks and I felt like coming for a visit."
"I've seen your breaks." She turned to her computer again. "Some of them I even wrote about myself."
"Then why don't we go out for lunch?" he suggested. "I'm thinking Italian?"
"I could go for that, but no skipping out between the main course and desert this time. I think our friend in green needs to take a little time off."
"I'll stay right with you. Let's go."
"Let me close up shop real quick." She saved her work and shut down the computer. "I'm ready."
"Good." He led her out to the limo and got in with her. "So I think we should go somewhere authentic."
"As long as you're paying, I don't care." She kicked off her shoes and unbuttoned the top of her blouse. "Just make sure that lunch includes a bottle of wine."
"Whatever you say." He nodded and pulled her to him. "So, our drive is going to take some time."
"Where are we going?" she asked as she kissed him.
"The airport so we can go to Italy." He smiled and stroked her hair. "I told you I was thinking of getting something authentic."
"Italy, on a private jet right?"
"Well, since I do own oneā¦"
"Shut up and kiss me." She half climbed into his lap as she pressed against him.
Oliver held her as he kissed her.
Twenty minutes later they arrived at the airport and boarded the jet.
"This is nice." Lois pronounced as she looked around the jet. "You could just about live here."
"There is a bedroom." He answered as he led her to the back of the plane. "I could show you."
"Now that I would love to see." She followed him and then closed the door behind them. "Since we're going to be thousands of feet in the sky, maybe I should take advantage of the fact you can't leave me this time." She pushed him back on the bed.
"Not a bad idea." He propped up as she climbed up on top of him.
"Let's see just how well your super hero training has helped you." She kissed him and started to unbutton his shirt.
Three hours later
Lois lay still panting as she rested in Oliver's arms.
"This was the best day off I've had in a long time." He sighed as he held her tightly.
"It was great." Lois agreed. "The surprise of a lifetime."
"And we've still got to eat in Italy." He laughed and kissed her.
