A/N: I like to write.

Warning: Slash, swearing.

Disclaimer: JKR.

Challenge: People on Bebo and LiveJournal are giving me prompts for Sirius/Remus fics, and I'll write one (or just biff the lot and write whatever I want) per day, posting them there, and here. This'll go on for the whole of May, so feel free to pop over to my LJ (link in my profile) and drop me a prompt!

Prompt: "it's the last day at hogwarts for the marauders. while packing, sirius finds a letter in remus' trunk addressed for him" Thanks, ashleyregret of LiveJournal!

Letter

Sirius hummed an Alice Cooper song as he danced around the dorm room, picking up his things and throwing them haphazardly into his trunk. It was the last day of school. Forever. Forever and ever and ever. And ever.

Remus, James, and Pete had already packed, and were down in the common room, James presumably paying attention to nothing but Lily, Peter stammering about whatever, and Remus...

God, Remus. Beautiful, kind, caring, loving, sweet, gorgeous, intelligent, gentle, charming, quiet Remus, was probably listening boredly.

Fuck, Sirius thought. I am a faggot, through and through. Where's the arsing map?

They had agreed that the map would be ceremonially hidden once they were done packing, but Sirius thought he had seen it in a stack of paper Remus had put... somewhere. He searched up and down for them, eventually finding the elusive buggars lying on his bed, in plain view. Great.

He sorted through them boredly. Homework, notes, notes, homework, doodles, prank notes, homework, heyyy...

A letter.

A letter addressed to him.

A letter from Remus.

Sirius sat down, dropping the rest of the pile unceremonially next to him. He scanned it, eyes widening in shock as he read on.

Sirius

I don't know if I'll have the guts to give this to you, but I'll bollocking well try.

See, there, I just swore. You have been such a bad influence on me.

Well, I guess I should get to the point of this letter. I really don't want to... hnngh.

Remember what James said at dinner last night, about how our school lives are over forever, and we should wrap up any last business before we go?

I don't want this to be a secret I carry with me through my adult life. It'll be awkward for awhile, but sod it, we'll get over it, and it's better than me wallowing in secret shame all my life. I know you wouldn't want that.

Okay. Here goes. Gryffindor courage, like James says.

I'm gay.

That is the first time I have ever told anyone, albeit over paper.

More specifically, I rather fancy you.

Oh bollocks, bloomers, and pants. That was hard.

I guess I'll just leave this with the map and a load of other crap and head downstairs, so you find it.

My hands are trembling like crazy. Why does this make me so nervous?

Love

Remus

Sirius forgot all about the map. He forgot about the other people in the common room. He forgot about packing. All he could think of was Remus. He pelted down the stairs, slamming through the doors into the common room. All eyes went to this unnatural display of loudness at once, though Sirius searched only for one set. Remus' eyes were afraid and braced, clearly ready for rejection. Like hell.

Sirius strode urgently across the room, eyes still locked on those amber orbs, growing more fearful with every step.

When Sirius reached him, Remus gabbled out at once, "Sirius, I'm so sorry, it was stupid and I know you don't-"

Remus' anxious, panicked voice was cut off by Sirius' lips on his.
