Misplaced?
By LilyChan

Maya sighed from boredom. She wished she could leave. There was no reason she had to be there in the first place. It was only the usual business. Ever since the incident over at Hazakura Temple all those years ago, Kurain Village had been abnormally quiet. The dark-haired Master didn't mind – whatever got her a chance to do what she needed to do.

Almost on cue, she heard some noise in the background. Everyone around her, including Maya herself, got distracted by the noise and went out to the main hall to see what the fuss was about.

"Sir, you cannot go in there!" exclaimed someone Maya didn't recognize right away. "The Master, she is busy –"

"But all I wanted to do is to see my precious Ma—MAAAAYAAAA!" cried out a familiar voice.

She wanted to hide, but yet she was glad to hear her friend-with-benefits and Nick's friend, Larry Butz, call for her. The woman couldn't help but face palm at his antics.

The person got indignant and huffed at the man. "It's Mystic Maya to you!"

"Mystic? Well, she is mystical all right…" she heard the man say. She had to interrupt him. If anyone in the village knew about her relationship with him, well, that'll certainly wake up the Kurain Village. She pushed through the crowd and grabbed the man's arm. He whined on how he only wanted to see her, but Maya ignored him for the most part. "Let me goooooo!" he whined. "I want to see my precious Maya after a long, hard day at mastering stuff!"

She managed to drag the much-obvious older man from the main hall, from Winding Way, to the Side Room. Maya had something planned for the Butz all right. Perhaps this was why Nick always seemed irritated whenever they saw him?

Once she knew they were completely devoid of anyone (as the Side Room usually was), she closed the door. She had tossed the man on his bottom as he whined about the pain.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, slightly irritated but happy to be out of the Channeling Room. "Why didn't you give me a call before you came over?"

Larry merely laughed nervously. "W-well, I just thought I'd surprise you! Nothing wrong with that, right?"

Maya sighed. "No…" She then smiled. "But thanks. I don't know why Nick disliked you," she gave him a wistful look; "I always thought you were cool."

Once he straightened himself up, he smiled proudly. "Well, I am the Butz!" He gave her thumbs up. Maya once again placed her head on the palm of her hand. "Hey, don't do thaaaaat! After all I tried to come up here to see you…" he gave her a teary-eyed look.

Maya laughed and sat down on the ground. "Well, now that you're here," she gave him a seductive look, "what do you plan on doing now that we're here alone?"

The brunet smirked, also getting the idea. He gave her a playful smirk. "Oh, I don't know. He edged closer to her – their lips almost touching. "What do you propose on doing?"

The woman merely gave out a sultry chuckled as she fiddled with her obi. Larry kept his attention on her chest area. Then he saw something square in his face. He almost fell back on his ass when he recognized it.

"W-what's that for?"

"Don't act stupid," Maya simply said. "After last time, I don't want another scare like that. You ain't getting love without putting on a glove!"
