My Magic Blow Up Punching Bag
Summury: Because you sometimes have to hold their head above water.
AN: A little look into the Janitors actions...not slash.
Ever since the penny-door incident the Janitor knew JD was the adversary he had been waiting for. Cox was too ready with pithy come backs, Turk was not easily messed with, Elliot would fall into a pile of gooey tears, Carla was a force onto herself, and Doug…well Cox had the market of destroying his spirit. But JD was different. He skipped through life with an almost untouchable joy. He could pick himself up—and did more often than his friends ever realized.
He was like one of those blow up punching bags they make for kids. No matter how many times you punch it, it keeps popping right back up. If it didn't pop right back up it would lose the fun, but he is human and sometimes he doesn't bounce back. Sometimes Dr. Cox pushes him to hard, sometimes his friends aren't their natural "supportive" selves. That's when the Janitor dries the floors…before JD walks on them. That's when the Janitor threatens the interns into submission. That's when he glares at anyone trying to take the last cup of coffee so JD can get a cup. Like the time Turk was stealing JD's patients, or when JD's father died. Sometimes you have to hold their head above water so you can torment them later. Because it's always fun to dunk your adversary under the water, but it's just as rewarding to make sure they don't drown.
