Hello everyone!

I have finally had time to begin revising and editing this story! I truly dislike the way I wrote it the first time around. I am at a different point with my writing and NEED to change this.

I am going to be editing and revising 4 chapters at a time, if not more. I am also going to be changing some of the plot line and how this story goes. The rating might also change. If you want to read the poorly written version, I suggest you do so now before I edit it.

I hope you all will enjoy this story and the new things I am bringing to it!

Much love,

GVE

Edward had finally caved in and changed me when I was 19, a month after we were married. It has been 45 years since that horrible experience, but I can say that I have never been happier. It tore my heart in half to leave behind my loved ones. I kept in contact with Charlie through letters and phone calls, but I was never able to see him before he passed away. It still broke my heart thinking that my dad was no longer alive, but that is the natural course of life; unless you're a vampire.

I developed the power of being a shield. I could deflect any power and protect other people with my shield. I still thought it would have been nice to have something like telekinesis or teleporting, but I'll take what I can get.

I could hardly contain my excitement for this weekend. We were going camping on a deserted beach. I couldn't wait to be in the sunlight and resting in the sand. I bounced my legs in my seat impatiently. "Calm down, Bella." Emmett laughed while speeding towards the beach.

"I can't! It's my first time getting to camp on a beach! I can't wait to sit back in the sun!" I pointed out excitedly. Edward smiled and squeezed my hand in his.

"This weekend is gonna be the best time of your life." Emmett exclaimed as he turned the song up on the radio. A country song blared out of his speakers. "This is my favorite song!"

Turn it up some
Alright boys, this is her favorite song
You know that right
So, if we play it good and loud
She might get up and dance again
Ooh, she put her beer down
Here she comes
Here she comes
Left left left right left
Whoo

Husslers shootin' eightball
Throwin' darts at the wall
Feelin' damn near 10 ft. tall
Here she comes, Lord help us all
Ol' T.W.'s girlfriend done slapped him outta his chair
Poor ole boy, it ain't his fault
It's so hard not to stare
At that honky tonk badonkadonk
Keepin' perfect rhythm
Make ya wanna swing along
Got it goin' on
Like Donkey Kong
And whoo-wee
Shut my mouth, slap your grandma
There outta be a law
Get the Sheriff on the phone
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on
That honky tonk badonkadonk
(Aww son)

We don't care bout the drinkin'
Barely listen to the band
Our hands, they start a shakin'
When she gets the urge to dance
Drivin' everybody crazy
You think you fell in love
Boys, you better keep your distance
You can look but you can't touch
That honkey tonk badonkadonk
Keepin' perfect rhythm
Make ya wanna swing along
Got it goin' on
Like Donkey Kong
And whoo-wee
Shut my mouth, slap your grandma
There outta be a law
Get the Sheriff on the phone
Lord have mercy, how's she even get them britches on
That honky tonk badonkadonk

"Shut it off Emmett!" Jasper and Rosalie hollered in unison. The looks on everyone's faces said they were thinking the same thing. Emmett quickly flipped to the next song on the CD

I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears
And if you have to leave
I wish that you would just leave
'Cause your presence still lingers here
And it won't leave me alone

These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real
There's just too much that time cannot erase

When you cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears
And I held your hand through all of these years
But you still have
All of me

I gasped and Emmett turned off the radio completely. The song brought up so many painful memories in such a short moment. Jacob had told me long ago that it was our song. I hadn't seen him in years and I wasn't sure if he was even alive. I pulled my arm over my chest in my habit of holding myself together. Edward gently pulled my arm away and kissed my hair. It took a few moments but the pain in my chest died down and I gave him a small smile.

"I'm sorry Bella." Emmett murmured his apologies.

"It's okay. You seriously have got to ditch the music from the 2000s." I laughed with a shrug. Emmett smirked and turned his attention back to the road. I nuzzled into Edward's chest for the remainder of the drive. It wasn't long before Emmett stopped the jeep and hopped out. The rest of us in the car followed.

It was absolutely beautiful. We were on a small grassy spot next to the edge of a cliff that led straight down to the water. There was a hill that led down to the white sandy beach and the ocean. The sun was glistening off of the ocean and sending beautiful rays of light into the sky. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my ice cold skin and smiled. This was going to be I was taking in the scenery, the boys had set up the tents and the rocks for the fire pit. Alice danced over to grab Rose and I and took us to one of the tents.

"It's bikini time!" She shrieked excitedly while throwing a red bikini to Rose and a blue one to me. She had a baby pink one for herself. I changed at vampire speed which was average speed for us. I never thought any different of using it anymore. It was natural. I grabbed my towel and sunglasses and followed them out. I chose a nice grassy spot to lay my towel down at. Emmett, Edward, and Jasper all had their swim trunks on and were down in the water. Rosalie had already gone to join them. Alice laid her towel down next to mine and sat down. "What's up?" She asked.

"Just taking in this beautiful place." I sighed in content while laying back.

"We found this place back in 1956." Alice said with a smile at the memory.

"Man, I love being a vampire. I can't believe it has been 45 years. I will never grow tired of it." I grinned.

"It's really great. It's been really fun to have you be unbreakable too." Alice giggled which caused me to laugh as well.

"Yet you still put me through torturous shopping trips." I muttered while shaking my head. Alice laughed her beautiful pixie laugh again. "What's gonna happen this weekend?" My curiosity was getting the better of me.

"Not telling!" Alice spoke in a singsong voice. I huffed and rolled my eyes. She giggled again before skipping down to the beach with the others. Jasper and Edward were playing an intense game of Frisbee while Rosalie was floating around in the water. Alice began to make a sand castle. This was definitely not a normal sight for vampires. Jasper flung the Frisbee far into the surrounding forest and Edward took off after it. I was brought out of my people watching after sensing a large figure next to me. A soaking wet Emmett was standing there with a devious smirk on his face.

"Hey squirt." Emmett said while still smirking.

"Hello Em." I said while quirking an eyebrow to his odd behavior.

"Come here. I want to show you something." He said while pulling me to my feet. He led me over to the edge of the cliff. I looked down and saw the water crashing onto the cliffs at the bottom.

"It's a cliff." I said stupidly, looking at him expectantly. He swung me into his arms bridal style. "What are you doing?" I asked nervously. Emmett smirked once more.

"Someone needs to get wet!" Emmett yelled causing the others to stare up at us. Emmett spun at full speed in a circle before throwing me off of the cliff.

I screamed an ear shattering scream. While I was free falling through the air, horrible memories rushed to my mind; memories that I had suppressed long ago. It seemed like such a silly thing to be afraid of, but these memories haunted me; the night Edward left, my zombie like months, my friendship with Jacob, seeing Laurent in the woods, the wolves, my cliff diving attempt, the trip to Itlay, the dark halls of the Volterra, Jane's piercing glare, the newborns, and Victoria. All these memories came back with suffocating clarity.

I braced myself to hit the water. My rock like body hit the water with a splash. It felt like a thousand knives hitting me everywhere. It wasn't physically painful, but the memories muffled my thought process. I opened my eyes and panicked, screaming underwater. Water rushed into my dead lungs. I swam as fast as I could away from the threatening cliffs. I was at a small island where I knew I wouldn't be found. I crawled onto the warm sand, shaking from the traumatic memories that flooded my brain. Instincetively, I wrapped my arms around myself to keep the hole in my chest from bursting open. I sobbed tearless sobs and felt like I could die all over again.
