Bella POV

After a long drive, our house finally came into view. Being at the old Cullen house made me realize just how much I loved the house that Emmett and I called home. The house was empty, but Emmett's truck sat in the driveway.

"Where are we?" Ruth asked, looking around at our yard.

"This our house." I explained as we began to get out. Emmett grabbed our bags and set them down inside the door. Anthony, Ruth, and I waited outside. Emmett returned in a few seconds.

"You ready to try your hand at tracking?" He asked with a huge grin on his face. He clapped his massive hands together with excitement.

"They were at Voyage last night, so let's head that way and try to catch a scent?" I proposed. Emmett gave me his classic Emmett goofy grin before we took off in the direction. Anthony and Ruth followed directly behind us. It wasn't long before I caught a scent heading west. We took off in that direction and followed the scent directly to a huge clearing. There was a big three story white house that had tons of opened windows in the clearing. The Cullen's scent was all over the place here. It wasn't a surprise either because the house looked so similar to the one in Forks.

"Do we knock?" Emmett looked unsure of what to do. I laughed.

"Who doesn't love a good surprise?" I told him with a wink. He chuckled as we all walked to the door. "Maybe you two should wait out here?" I expressed my concern to Ruth. She nodded and walked with Anthony to sit down on a bench near the side of the yard. Emmett and I knocked on the door. Carlisle answered it and his jaw dropped in shock. I wanted to laugh. I have never seen Carlisle anything less than composed.

"This is a welcome surprise." He said warmly with his sweet honey voice.

"Hi Carlisle. We are actually here to see Edward." I mumbled awkwardly. Carlisle couldn't look more surprised if he tried. He nodded and motioned for us to come inside. We entered hand in hand. I made sure to keep Emmett and I shielded from any powers.

"Is that Ruth?" Carlisle asked us in a hushed whisper. Emmett nodded which got a smile out of Carlisle. "Edward is upstairs." He motioned for us to go ahead without him. We took off quietly upstairs so we did not cause too much of a commotion. There was only one room on the third floor and I assumed it was where Edward would be. Emmett gave my hand a reassuring squeeze. I tightened my grip on his hand as we entered the room.

The room was covered in white carpet and had a full wall window on the back wall. There was a grand piano in the middle of a room and small furniture to decorate the sides. Edward was sitting on the bench in front of the piano, but his back was to us. He looked exactly like he did 83 years ago. I smiled smugly internally when I realized I felt no attraction to him.

"Edward…" I greeted him without any emotion in my voice. His head snapped up as he turned his entire body to face us. His eyes were black and his hair seemed more tousled than usual. He was visibly stunned by our presence.

"Bella…" He breathed.

"And Emmett." Emmett added in an almost smug voice. Edward sent a glare towards Emmett and our intertwined hands.

"I didn't hear your thoughts." Edward grumbled morosely.

"Shield here, remember." I joked with an eye roll. "We're not here for that. There is a surprise waiting for you outside." Edward looked at us apprehensively.

"Oh come on." Emmett growled, throwing Edward over his shoulder and carrying him down the stairs.

"Emmett, stop this nonsense." Edward hissed as he pushed himself out of Emmett's arms. I didn't see what he was complaining about. I loved being in his strong arms; maybe I am a little biased. "What is going on Bella?" Edward snapped, growing more annoyed. I covered his eyes with my hands and gave him a warning growl of my own. I finished leading him outside.

"You'll see." I smirked. I took my hands off his face, but he turned to face me.

"Why did you leave, Bella?" He asked, hurt clearly in his voice.

"I had to. " I muttered lamely.

"Why?" He asked plainly. I rolled my eyes and sighed.

"Emmett is my mate. I realized that it wasn't meant to be. I'm sorry for hurting you, but I really do have a surprise for you. Turn around." Edward wanted to grumble once more, but he complied with my wish.

"Edward." Ruth breathed in relief. Her face was showing pure joy, but I could read her well enough to see her apprehension.

"Ruth…" Edward gasped. I smiled at my loving husband next to me. He returned my smile as we watched what was about to happen. "How is this happening?" He asked, turning to look at Emmett and I.

"She showed up at the old house in Forks and we put two and two together." I smiled. Edward was at Ruth's side in a second. They embraced each other tightly and it truly warmed my heart as well. I noticed that Esme, Carlisle, Alice, and Jasper had joined us in watching the two reunite. I gave them a small wave. Jasper was struggling to restrain Alice from coming over to us.

"Hi Edward…" Anthony started off awkwardly. Edward looked confused as well and glanced at Ruth for an explanation. I could see the questions burning in his eyes. Ruth nodded and Edward's mouth fell open.

"Anthony." Edward tried the name on his lips in disbelief. "I can't believe it." He pulled him in for a hug and held him close.

"I've always wanted to meet you Dad. I can't believe it either." Anthony blubbered into Edward's chest. I heard Esme gasp from her place on the porch. Edward gave her one of his famous crooked smiles and motioned for her to come down there.

"Anthony, this is your Grandma for all intents and purposes. Esme, this is Anthony, my son." I could hear the pride in Edward's voice as he introduced the two. Esme pulled Anthony in for her own motherly hug. What a bunch of sappy vampires we all are.

I pulled on Emmett's hand and we slowly retreated back towards the clearing. We found ourselves in a little meadow of flowers just far enough away that we could talk privately. I'm sure the others could still see us from the house, but at least we could finally talk.

"Have you ever wanted a child?" I asked Emmett, looking at him deeply.

"I've thought about it, but I am the luckiest guy in the world just to have you." He pulled me back against his chest as he wrapped his arms around me. I laid my head back on his chest and sighed in content. What would I do without my burly man? He pressed his lips to the side of my neck softly. I turned my head up so I could kiss him. Heat rushed through me from the contact of his lips, but it was unfortunately cut short as Alice screamed.

"Where did those two go!" I couldn't help but giggle at the crazy little sprite.

"I'll protect you." Emmett laughed, rolling us over so I was trapped under him. I laughed, but he cut me off with another kiss. This one was definitely more passionate and demanding.

"Found them!" Alice screeched from right next to us. She was leaning over so she was face to face with us. I turned to look at her and Emmett missed and kissed my ear. "Hi guys."

"Hello Alice." Emmett grumbled as he climbed off of me. Alice jumped on him in a hug. I couldn't help but laugh. Emmett tossed her up in the air and caught her like you would do with a child. As soon as he set Alice down, she was crushing me in a vice tight hug.

"Bella, I missed you so much!" Alice cried, hugging me tighter if it was possible.

"I've missed you too." I admitted, hugging her tightly as well. It was true no matter how much I tried to hide it. I was never mad at Alice or the family and I really had missed them dearly.

"You've got to come grace everyone else with your presence!" Alice exclaimed excitedly.

"What about Rosalie?" I started to ask, but she cut me off quickly.

"It's fine Bella. Stop being a baby and come on! She's over Emmett." Alice smiled and gave me puppy dog eyes. I rolled my eyes in defeat. She began to lead us back to the house. Alice came to a sudden halt and Emmett and I smacked into her. She didn't budge. I could tell she wasn't having a vision; she just stopped. I peered over her and saw the family waiting expectantly for us.

"For someone so small, you're ridiculously strong." I grumbled, taking a step back from where we smacked into her.

"I'm not small; I'm fun sized. Remember that." Alice growled with a smile. Before I knew it, Esme was enveloping me in a hug.

"Bella, I missed you so much. It wasn't the same without you here." Esme smiled before hugging Emmett. "I missed you too Emmett. We definitely noticed not having our bear around." Esme laughed. Jasper came over and exchanged hugs with Emmett next.

"I missed you bro." He told him before hugging me. "I missed you too little sis." He drawled. Carlisle was next and he gave us both a small hug each. Edward was staring at us.

"Emmett, I want to apologize for all those horrible things I said years ago. I realize how badly my words hurt you and it wasn't right of me. I know an apology doesn't fix it, but I really am sorry for how I behaved. None of what I said was true and I really missed having you around." He told Emmett sincerely. Emmett gave him a nod of gratitude for his apology. Our reunion was cut short by a hiss.

"Wow…" An all to familiar voice hissed; Rosalie.
