Human

When an exorcist thought about the Noahs, they saw them as evil, cruel. They were monsters. Inhuman creatures that didn't care about anyone. Not people. Creatures.

Maybe demonising them made the exorcists believe that killing them wasn't murder. They underestimated their power because they believe that they are only fighting for their own sadistic joy. That they didn't have feelings. They were just creatures of the dark that only felt hate and resentment, whose only want was to cause harm to others.

But that wasn't true. What the exorcists forgot was that the Noahs did have feelings. They were human too.

Sure they feel hate, revulsion, anger and resentment, but then again, so did humans. And as humans they also felt other emotions, pain and sorrow, happiness and contentment, even love.

They laugh and cry same as everyone else. They joke around and go to school. They have parties and family reunions just like normal people.

They care.

They aren't just a random group of people. They are a family. A close family that understand each other.

You have the annoying younger sister, the refined uncle, the twins so close they couldn't live apart, the doting father, the glamorous older sister, the proud grandfather and the antisocial big brother.

They grieve.

For the big brother. Their big brother they will never see again. They mourned and cried. Like humans they yelled to the heavens to bring him back. But the Millennium Earl doesn't answer the cries of the Noahs. Because he was right there with them, mourning the death of a beloved friend.

They worry.

For days they sat beside Jasdebi's bed, watching them in their comatose state. They changed the damp cloths on their heads, they held their hands and cried. All the while murmuring under their breaths, praying that they wouldn't lose another family member.

They smile.

Every time they saw one another alive and well they couldn't help but smile. Not smirk or grin, but smile. A real smile reserved for those they truly cared about.

They love.

Tyki loves his friends. Lulbell loves Mimi. Road loves Allen. But if they had to they would give those things up, because they love each other more.

Maybe this is why the Noahs are so powerful. Because like the exorcist's they had someone they were fighting for. A loved one to protect.

They were human too.
