Planning Perfection

Chapter One: Jimmy Choo Surprises

Bella's POV

Rose and I were lounging about in our apartment, watching some dreadful soap on the television when the front door burst open and Alice flounced in. She shut the door behind her and collapsed to the floor. Her cheeks were flushed from running; she was trying to catch her breath and had one hell of a smile on her face. Rose and I just looked at her, waiting for her to explain this outburst.

"HE PROPOSED!!" Alice screeched ecstatically.

Rose and I pounced over the couch and pulled Alice up, dragging her over to the closest kitchen chair. We forced her into it and sat down around her, waiting for the story.

"Will we need tissues and wine or ice cream and a girl flick movie for this story?" Rose asked.

"Wine, tissues, it's happy. But I shouldn't drink, Jasper's waiting downstairs."

"So how did it happen?" I asked.

"Well we went out, had an amazing romantic dinner at my favourite restaurant then he sent the car away and we walked a bit round the streets. Without even noticing he led me to that gorgeous shoe store by the café that I love. The store was closed but all lit up and the second we walked by Jasper led us in. I asked what was going on and Jasper said that he wanted to buy me some shoes, so how could I refuse?" Alice stopped to take a breath then carried on.

"There was these amazing black leather Jimmy Choo's with the 115mm heel. He caught me eyeing them and asked the saleswoman for them in my size. Jasper escorted me over to a seat and knelt before me to take off my shoes. He then placed those to the sides and held my hands looking at me adoringly; I felt so in love with him. The shoes were brought out and Jasper brought them out the box for me, he placed one of the shoes on me then went back into the box." Alice grasped both our hands and smiled brightly.

"He then brought out the ring and proposed. I never thought he would, not yet anyway, and the ring was wonderful. He told me how much he loved me then asked. Instantly I said yes of course and jumped into his arms. I've never been happier." She beamed at us.

"I'm going to be a bride!" She was giddy. "Tomorrow we must have lunch and discuss the wedding plans as Jazz and I plan to get married soon." Both of us nodded and helped her up out of ther chair, she seemed too excited to walk.

We bid her goodbye after having a good look at the engagement ring and set her on her way to Jazz before shutting the door and looking carefully at each other.

"You know what this means?" I asked.

"Yep." Rose nodded meekly.

"One of us is going to have to help plan the wedding, with her." We shook our heads and went back to the couch, nervous of who would be made to endure Alice and all of her wedding plans.

The following morning Alice, Rose and I met at the local café on the corner to go over some of the wedding details. Of course this meant that we were going to find out who would be maid of honour and be in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly.

"Right, well you both know why we're all here." Alice began, sipping on her tea. "Bella and Rose, I love you two so much and can't get married without you two up there with me. So Bella I was wondering if you would be my maid of honour and Rose if you would be my bridesmaid, though I'd let you plan the bachelorette party since Bella's a bit of a prude." Rose laughed and nodded.

"You'll have the best bachelorette party this town has seen; no male is going to be safe. I'd love to be your bridesmaid." She smiled at me, giving me a 'ha ha' look. All though we would both be honoured to be Alice's choice for maid of honour we know that she is going to go overboard with this wedding and we will be in charge of one hundred different things.

"Bella?" Alice was looking at me hopefully.

"I'd love to be your maid of honour." She smiled and hugged me and Rose.

"That's great. So I was thinking we could start right away on what needs done, everything from the date, guests, flowers, the cake, the dress, the honeymoon, dancing lessons…" She continued for ages, listing everything I would need to be involved in.

At the end of our chat I felt the need to make an appointment with my doctor so he could provide me stress medication as the pressure is going to be on to make sure everything is right for Alice's big day.

"Oh, I forgot to mention. You won't be the only one doing this, whoever Jasper picks as his best man is going to assist you." Great, so I'm basically doing it all by myself then. I smiled and nodded, trying to show I was relieved but knowing I probably won't get any help from the best man.

Edward's POV

"But why?!" Emmett whined. "Please just let me handle the bachelor party. If Eddie does it we won't get any strippers or if we do they will probably be male!"

"Hey!" I protested. "I'm not gay."

"Pfft…sure." Emmett said to me before turning back to Jasper. "Just let me do this one thing and I'll be good, perfectly behaved through it all."

"Fine." Jasper, gave in. "Edward you will still be the best man but Emmett gets to plan the bachelor party."

"Yes!" Emmett called, hunting through the yellow pages.

"What are you looking for?" I asked curiously.

"I'm going to have to find the best strip club for us to go to." Jasper shook his head and wandered back into the kitchen while I watched Emmett's eyes light up across the page.

"So I'm going to get help planning this thing?" I asked.

"Yeah, but it's not a thing, it's my wedding." Jasper said, coming back in with a beer in hand.

"I still can't believe you proposed." Emmett said laughing. "I thought Alice was just a bit of fun."

"She was but then I got attached and next thing you know I'm madly in love with her."

"I still don't get it."

"You won't, not until you've met the right girl." Jasper took a sip of his beer and shrugged.

"So when do we meet the rest of the wedding party?" I asked.

"Tomorrow I think. Alice is going to call with the arrangements and we'll all meet up."

"I still don't get how you've dated Alice for two years yet we've never met her friends." I commented.

"I know, it's weird. I know them and you know Alice but you guys don't know each other. Oh well, you're about to get to know them very well. Edward you will be spending hours upon hours with Bella, the maid of honour, and no doubt Emmett will follow Rose like a lost puppy."

"What's that meant to mean?" Emmett asked offended.

"Rose is very pretty; she'll knock you off your feet." Jasper said.

"How pretty?" Emmett asked curiously.

"Stunning."

"Well this wedding business might not be so bad after all." He rubbed his hands together excitedly.

"So what am I going to have to plan?" I asked Jasper as Emmett returned to the yellow pages.

"I have no idea, Alice is handling everything. It's her big day so she gets to decide."

"Oh god, I'm going to be doing loads, aren't I?" I asked worryingly.

"Probably but remember you have Bella."

"I don't need an emotional Maid of Honour to slow me down." I said shaking my head.

"Bella isn't emotional and I have a funny feeling she'll be dreading planning this as much as you are."

"Why couldn't you and Alice just have hired a proper wedding planner?" I whined.

"Because Alice would spend all her time arguing with them. It's less stressful this way." He said shrugging.

"Less stressful for whom? Bella and I are the ones doing all the work."

"I'm sure you'll handle it Eddie." Emmett said, before diving into some of his plans for the bachelor party, no doubt including a tour of the city strip clubs, playing poker with some of the guys and bar hopping.

Well I'd just have to wait and see how much of this I would be doing by myself. Although being best man for my best friend is brilliant news it turns out I'm not just going to be best man, apparently wedding planner is part of that title too. Just what I need.
