Episode 26: Miracles Happen (1)

Angel stopped when she realized that Gorgo wasn't chasing after her. She felt her limbs tremble. She knew it was fear. She really truly believed that Gorgo had gotten to Daisy and she couldn't stand it, but she wanted to lead him away from the schools.

"What are you doing, Angel?" Emerald questioned, finally catching up the her.

Angel shook her head. "He should be following," she said.

"He sensed Avery's sword," Emerald said. "Someone is using it and we all know that he wants that. Probably more than he wants your power."

The fairy princess nodded. "What do we need to do?" she asked.

"Get to Alfea," Emerald said. "Join with the others and stop him."

Cicada was literally crawling backwards away from Gorgo as he approached. The others were all battling and Gorgo was chuckling as he walked toward her. Cicada wasn't one to feel fear, but she needed to keep the sword away from him and she knew if she tried to spin and run, he'd start to take it seriously and capture her in a moment. She just had to hope the others were on their way.

Suddenly, a female body collided with Gorgo, knocking him back with an electric spark. Kaida stood there between Cicada and Gorgo, power sparking off her like colorful electricity. "Keep your hands off her," Kaida said, standing ready to fight.

"What are you doing with my sword?" Avery asked, landing in a kneel next to Cicada.

"I needed a sword," Cicada said, handing the sword over to Avery without delay. "The pixies grabbed this one for me."

Gorgo frowned. It would be much tougher to get the sword from Avery as it was almost an extension of her. He shot a blast of dark power at Kaida, but the Draco fairy threw up a shield of green and blue fireworks.

"We're ending this, Gorgo," Avery said standing up. She swung her sword and again it shot energy at him. However, this time he was unable to absorb the energy as he had when Cicada had used it. He was thrown back though he landed on his feet. Avery swung her sword again, this time with Kaida and Cicada throwing attacks as well. Rather than forming a shield, Gorgo grabbed the nearest person, which happened to be Ebony, to use as a shield.

All three girls' eyes widened as they tried to draw back their attacks, but it was too late.

"Eb!"

Suddenly, between the powerless witch and the attack was Opaque, who had flashed himself away from his fight with Celeste to protect his sister. The attacks hit and he fell to one knee in exhaustion.

"Fool!" Gorgo yelled, knowing he had just lost a strong, cunning fighter.

Ebony struggled from Gorgo's grip and knelt next to her brother. "Opaque, I'm so sorry," she said, grabbing his shoulders.

Opaque looked at her with soft dark eyes. "No, it's me that needs to be sorry, Eb," he said. "I should have demanded that he give you your powers back the moment I learned he had them."

"Truly tender," Gorgo grumbled and powered an attack aimed at the siblings. "But you are no longer needed."

"Sun Blast!" Celeste yelled, having a clear shot at Gorgo.

The warlock smirked and flew at Celeste, dodging her attack. Just before he grabbed her, an emerald spear impaled his shoulder and he fell, cursing loudly.

"We'll take it from here," Angel said, landing next to Celeste. Emerald landed on Celeste's other side. Angel glanced at her, and noticed Daisy and Violet both still fighting and with powers. She smirked.

"Gorgo, you're going down," Avery said readying herself for another attack. All five of the present Vixen began closing in.

"I truly doubt that," Gorgo said. "You really think five little fairies could defeat me?"

"Learn to count," Celeste said, joining into the group.

"Should have stayed in school," Ebony said, grabbing her brother's sword as he struggled to get up.

Suddenly, two levebikes came through the gates, Marvel on one, Trine and Trend on the other. They approached the two fights between Violet and Chill and Daisy and Cyclone.

"Mind if we cut in?" Marvel asked, jumping between Daisy and a strike of lightning with his shield up.

"You two go help the rest of the girls," Trine said. "We'll take care of these guys."

"What exactly do you plan to do?" Chill questioned. "Charm us with your looks?"

"How about this?" Charm's voice said from above shooting down a morfix blast that made both dark warlocks jump. "I managed to beat you after a long day of competitions. Now I'm charged and think I can take you on easily."

"Took you long enough," Trine said. "What, were you making s'mores?"

"You should really help the girls," Mech said from where he was still battling Bryony. "They'll need all the fire power they can get."

"You should really only worry about your own battle, little boy," Bryony said, jumping at him, turning into a rattle snake in mid air, fangs bared, ready to bite. She felt her teeth sink in, but it didn't feel like flesh, and she didn't taste any blood. She pulled her teeth back and tasted sour. Turning back into her human form, the taste of sour lemon was over-powering in her mouth and she noticed an actual lemon on the ground.

"Haha!" a girl laughed from not too far off. It was one of the girls that had been helping Vixen in Magix, one of the Beta fairies. "Might not be the most useful in battle, but if you're going to open your mouth that wide, there's no helping it."

"Thanks, Maggie," Mech said, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow.

Chill and Cyclone both growled. "That's it," Cyclone said. "You got my back, cuz?"

"Just go," Chill said. Suddenly, dark clouds began forming over head, winds blowing strongly, flapping around people's capes and hair. When lightning began striking, Trine and Marvel tried to charge in, but ice jutted out from the ground in a circle around the two warlocks, nearly impaling Marvel and knocking Trine off balance as some of it had hit his head.

When Charm tried to charge, Chill met him, but wasn't using the usual battle rules. He froze parts of Charm's body with each blow he landed. And then Bryony was behind the Specialist prince, where she dug her poisoned nails into his neck. Charm yelled, burning poisons coursing though his veins.

Gorgo was not liking the fact that all the fairies had surrounded him. He had a domed shield up, but he doubted it would last too long. Finally, he yelled loudly, his power blowing out in all directions. None of the girls had enough time to throw up a shield and were all thrown back. All except Emerald, who managed to steady herself against the blow. With a few scrapes on her face, she formed an emerald sword and charged him.

"Just surrender," Emerald said, swiping her sword at him. He was swiftly dodging every swing. "You must know you can't win!"

"As a matter of fact, I can," Gorgo said. He jumped back and lightning struck just in front of Emerald, throwing her backwards.

Gorgo laughed, but not for long. He felt vines come up out of the ground and wrap around his legs. He sent a blast of darkness out of his legs, but only one leg was freed as Daisy and Violet had each wrapped a different foot. Before he could move he heard, "Sun Blast!" He was unable to dodge, so he threw up a shield.

"Fire of the Dragon!" Angel yelled, and this time it was behind him. He tried to break through her attack with an attack of his own, but the Dragon Fire destroyed the three he shot together, as he noticed that Avery had a hand on Angel's shoulder, passing on energy to the princess's attack. Gorgo was thrown onto his back, not even noticing that the vine around his foot had disappeared.

It was then that the storm began. Gorgo noticed that it was Cyclone's doing, and realized that the boys must have been holding out on their true strength the whole time. However, it did provide a distraction for the Vixen girls, if only for a moment. He shot a combination moonbeam/razor leaf attack at Cicada and Kaida while their attention was elsewhere.

"Watch out!" Daisy yelled, but it was too late. The attack hit and both girls were thrown backwards and into some bushes.

He then shot pure darkness in two directions, one heading toward Angel and Avery, the other at Daisy. Violet managed to intercept the attack on her sister, defusing it. However, it was Ebony that jumped in front of Angel and Avery. She figured it was her best shot at getting her powers back, as it was her magic that he was using.

Instead, Ebony went sprawling into Angel and Avery having been knocked back. Ebony groaned, and then tried her best to form magic, any. But, she still couldn't. Before any of them could react, Gorgo attacked again. Blast after blast of magic. Angel and Avery pulled Ebony behind them and each formed a shield, but the shields kept breaking.

The lightning began striking more, the winds picked up, and it began raining, cold sharp droplets hitting their faces. It made it harder to see, harder to react, and the darkened skies gave Gorgo the advantage.

"We need to do something about that," Cicada said to Kaida as they pulled themselves out of the bushes. Her eyes were trained on Chill and Cyclone.

"I think I have an idea," Kaida said. "Can you distract them for a moment?"

"Distraction is what I'm best at," Cicada said and flew up. She dodged some lightning and shot at Chill. "Insects Shadow."

Chill was barely fazed, but his attention turned to her and away from Marvel and Trend. Kaida was able to approach them unnoticed.

A moment later, Trend flew up to join Cicada.

The storm slowed down significantly when Cyclone's eyes landed on Trend. "Trend, surrender, I don't want to hurt you."

"Ignore her, she's worthless," Chill said to Cyclone, annoyed.

"Please, Gorgo's evil," Trend tried to plead with them. "Look what he did to Ebony. Even to Opaque! To your own cousins. He doesn't care what happens to you."

It was evident that Trend's words were getting to Cyclone as the storm slowed. Chill grew angry. "Shut up, you stupid fairy!" And with that, he shot an ice spear at Trend. Trend's green eyes widened, but she couldn't dodge in time.

"Trend!" Cicada screamed, seeing her friend fall to the ground, a spear in her stomach.

The storm immediately ended as Cyclone flew to catch her, but an ice wall stopped him. "She's not worth it, Cyclone!"

Trine and Marvel ran to Trend's side, and Marvel grabbed her hand. "Come on, Trend, it'll be okay," he said, hoping to keep the light in her eyes.

"We need to get her medical attention now," Cicada said, shaking.

Kaida flew above the cousin warlocks. "Dragon's Spark!" she yelled aiming at Chill. Not expecting the attack while her friend was impaled, Chill didn't have time to dodge and was hit, thrown back into a tree. He hit his head and passed out. When Cyclone tried to fly to Trend, Kaida blocked his path. "Don't even think about it," she said. She looked at a patch of trees and nodded. Suddenly, Trend, Marvel, and Trine disappeared, leaving only a shaken Cicada and an ice spear. The three stepped out from where they had been. "See, he doesn't care about what you think even. He was willing to kill her, and I can tell you Gorgo's opinion of Trend is even lower than his was."

"Don't listen to her, Cyclone," Bryony yelled from her fight with Mech. "She's trying to manipulate you."

"This isn't manipulation, it's truth," Kaida said. "For every moment that you are helping Gorgo, you're risking Trend's life."

Cyclone closed his eyes for a moment, backing up. When he opened them, he yelled. "No!" he threw his hand out, lightning striking out at Kaida. She was hit and thrown back, but rather than hurt, her eyes were glowing an electric blue. She spun right around and shot a bolt of lightning right back at Cyclone, this time, it was enveloped with green and red and purple sparks of her Dragon Spark fire works. Cyclone fell from the sky, injured and out.

Bryony yelled, angry about the turn of events. She charged at Kaida, nails out, ready to poison the fairy, but was hit back by a light blue beam. Frosty was floating above Kaida, having just arrived. "Sorry, Bry, but when it comes to sides, I side with Eb. Gorgo stole her powers, so that makes him my enemy. You sided with him and the three idiots, so that makes you my enemy as well."

"What took you?" Charm asked, still suffering from the poisons.

"I had to pick up some jewelry," Frosty said, and they noticed a glowing necklace around her neck. She tossed another necklace to Trine. "Get that to Eb, if you can." He just nodded.

"That won't help her," Bryony said, growing angry.

"We'll see," Frosty said, and shot an ice attack at the poison witch.

"You three need to help against Gorgo," Trine said to the three fairies as Frosty and Bryony began fighting. All three nodded and headed toward the battle.

Gorgo saw he was surrounded again, and the storm was over. He growled, and his body began to tremble. Suddenly, he hunched over as his back elongated. He looked up and his eyes were glowing yellow. Coarse black fur began sprouting from his exposed skin and two large wings broke free from his clothing.

"What's happening?" Cicada asked, taking a step back.

"He's transforming," Kaida said slowly.

"What do you mean transforming?" Cicada asked.

"What do you think!" Violet asked.

Gorgo roared, suddenly twenty times larger. He glared down. Still surrounded, but now they all were much smaller.

"Really, at least earlier you still resembled a human," Trend said, frowning at his appearance.

"What do we do now?" Daisy asked, taking a step back in fear.

Angel smirked. "We attack," she said. "Fire of the Dragon!"

"Glitter Shock!"

"Emerald Blasts"

"Insects Shadow!"

"Electric Blaze!"

"Sun Blast!"

"Dark Thorn!"

"Petal Shooter!"

"Excalibur!"

Gorgo laughed as the attacks flew. However, a spaded tail whipped out and was headed straight for Avery. She could sense it powering up as it approached. Just as it was touching her, while it tried to wrap around her, she yelled out, "Charmix!"

Just as when he had tried to steal Angel's powers when she had her Charmix, Gorgo yelled loudly, only this time his yell went out through the whole of Magix.

"Again!" Angel yelled. "And don't hold back!" The fairies all attacked again, but when the smoke cleared, Gorgo still stood. His eyes were narrowed on Avery.

"So, you gained your Charmix, did you?" he questioned.

"You're not getting anyone else's powers, Gorgo," Avery said.

Gorgo laughed. "Might I remind you that there are still several people here that don't have the luxury of having the Charmix protection. And a whole universe out there of magical beings that have no protection."

"Except this is your last battle," Avery said.

"Try to stop me from leaving," Gorgo said. He shot a blast at Violet, light energy attacks. She was knocked back and dazed. As long as she wasn't about to stop him from leaving, he allowed a dark shadow to creep up.

"No!" Avery yelled, running at him as he disappeared. When the shadow was gone, so was Avery.

"Avery!" Trend yelled.

Emerald marched over to Opaque. "Follow him," she demanded, lifting him off the ground. "Track his darkness."

"I'll take you," Ebony said. She was wearing the necklace Frosty had retrieved.

"But… your powers," Cicada said.

"Not a problem," Ebony said. "I must warn you, this will shake you up a bit because it is pure dark magic."

"We can take it," Angel said.

"Hey, dark magic doesn't exactly faze me," Cicada said.

Angel turned to the three freshman fairies. "Stay here," she instructed them. "Help with Bryony."

Daisy and Celeste nodded, and Daisy held Violet down.

The five Vixen girls and Ebony grabbed hands. Ebony concentrated, and a dark shadow engulfed them. Immediately, Angel, Kaida, and Trend all felt a little nauseous, and their grips grew weak as they were nearly torn apart from one another. They couldn't see, but they could sense that they were moving fast and dangerously.

When they stopped again, they were in a circular room, a throne in the middle, and weapons on different tables. Angel and Kaida stumbled, while Trend completely collapsed. "Avery!" Emerald yelled, noticing the girl passed out on the floor.

"So, you gained your powers back," Gorgo said, smirking, back in his human form, but with a spaded tail still. He shot an attack at Ebony, knocking the girl back. He then bent forward, toward Avery, or rather her sword.

"Insects Shadow!" Cicada yelled, knocking him back. Emerald dashed forward to protect Avery, kneeling beside the girl.

"Wake up, Avery," Emerald said, shaking the girl's shoulder as as she did so. Avery, however, merely stirred.

Gorgo chuckled. "You believe that you are safe here," he said. "But I do believe that is the opposite. In fact, I would guess that here, I could take your powers, even with your Charmix."

"He's bluffing," Kaida said. She, however, like Angel and Trend, was paler than usual. The darkness had affected her more than anticipated. Without their Charmix's, any of the three of them could have easily been overcome by the Shadow Travel.

"Oh, am I?" Gorgo questioned. He was walking forward, smirking as he went. "And now, you are trapped here."

The girls all turned to one another. Was it possible that he was telling the truth? Cicada stood in front of the three weakened Vixen while Emerald guarded Avery.

"His tail." Emerald heard Avery's voice, and looked at her, noticing she was waking up.

Emerald looked at the tail that was flicking around. Emerald grabbed Avery's sword and stood up. Gorgo immediately noticed. "Do you know what happens when you attack me with that sword's energy?" He was sauntering toward her, his tail still flicking about.

"As a matter of fact," Emerald said. "I do."

Gorgo chuckled.

"Fire of the Dragon!" Angel yelled. Gorgo turned to block Angel's attack. Emerald charged forward, and in a quick motion, brought the sword down, severing the tail off Gorgo, at least most of it.

Gorgo yelled, his body trembling. He turned to Emerald, and attempted to attack her, but just a small light beam came out and it bounced off the green fairy without her trying to block it.

Across the room, Ebony gasped, and her eyes glowed black for a moment. It was clear that her powers had returned to her as she took off the necklace.

With that, the dark energy that Gorgo had submerged into the area dispersed. He turned and launched himself at Emerald, but was immediately caught up in ribbons while she hadn't even flinched.

"Let's take him back," Angel said. The others all agreed.

"But, this time, let's not use shadows," Trend said. "I can still feel the darkness on me."

"The darkness has no physical form," Ebony said. "But, if you insist…" with that, Ebony disappeared.

It was a short while later that the girls of Vixen returned, with Gorgo, wrapped in vines. Already, however, people were celebrating the return of their powers. Allison and Maggie's friends from Beta Academy had arrived and were reveling in the ability to use magic again. As well, the witches from Cloud Tower were celebrating.

When the girls returned, four boys raced up to them. Brandon, Charm, Trine, and Marvel. Brandon pulled Angel into a kiss, Marvel pulled Avery into his arms, Trine caught Trend as she threw herself at him. Charm, however, paused awkwardly approaching Emerald. There were definitely feelings between the two, and the quick kiss that had happened at the beginning of the long battle.

"We need to talk," Emerald said.

"About what?" Charm asked. "There is a mutual attraction here. What's stopping us?"

Emerald's eyes couldn't meet his. She was about to say something when she felt him take her hand. "We should at least try," he said.

She looked at him, all handsome and princely. There really was nothing stopping them. She sighed, smiled, and nodded.

Guards and prisoners arrived, taking Gorgo, Chill, Bryony, Cyclone, and Opaque with them, though the last two went willingly.

"Sorry, you two," Frosty said as they went. "But you chose this."

The then chose to refrain from pursuing it further," Griffin said, standing next to the ice witch. "Those two will have reduced sentences. Who knows, with good behavior they may be out very quickly."

"So, does this make Daisy, Cel, and me Vixen members now?" Violet asked the six girls of the group.

"Only in your dreams," Emerald said. The others laughed, but agreed. There was something sacred about the six girls, and even though they did like the three freshmen, they could make their own group.

A short time later found everyone partying. After all, it was the end of the school year, Red Fountain clearly was out as it had been destroyed, and the other schools were debating holding finals. Marvel found Avery sitting on a bench, her arms around her knees while she was just thinking.

"Care to share?" he asked.

Avery turned to him with a smile. "I'm just thinking about how long he's haunted me, and now it's over," she said.

"That is," Marvel said. "He can never hurt you again." He took her hand again. You shouldn't dwell on him."

"What should I think about then?" Avery asked.

"Think about what makes you happy," Marvel said.

Avery smiled. "You make me happy," she said.

"You know what the best thing about this is?" Marvel asked.

She shook her head. "Now, I'm the only guy you need to think about. I was beginning to get a little jealous about how often you were thinking about him."

"No you weren't," Avery said.

Marvel just kept smiling for a moment longer, before he leaned in and kissed her.
