Influenced by the lyrics of Bryan Adam's song - Star

This one's to cheer Jen Up (:

He stood on the roof of his home and looked out beyond the horizon, beyond the stars which were shining brightly. He watched carefully as the darkness in the sky got deeper, maybe hoping he could see that beautiful blue box which belongs to a friend of his. But Jack knew that he never would, not yet anyway.

He turned around as he heard somebody join him, a young man in a pink and black suit. The young man handed Jack a coffee and he was blown away at the smell of it, let alone the actual taste. Jack thanked the young man and invited him to sit down on the edge, to let their legs dangle above the city of Cardiff;

"Jack, you know I don't like heights,"

"For me, Ianto?" Jack smiled sadly

"Okay, for you," Ianto smiled back and sat next to Jack, shaking slightly.

Jack put an arm around Iantos shoulder, pulling him closer, and put another around his body and linked his own hands together, enjoying the warmth that was emitted from Ianto, and was happy when Ianto wrapped his own arms around Jacks waist.

Jack rested his cheek on top of Iantos head and kissed his hair gently, still looking out to the stars.

"I've been out there, Ianto, somewhere, but I have been beyond all of that darkness,"

"Why don't you go back?"

"Why would I leave all of this behind?"

"What? Cardiff?"

"No, not Cardiff. You," Jack smiled as he spoke. Ianto looked up at Jack and smiled back, before resting his head on Jacks shoulder.

"My Mum used to say," Ianto said quietly. Jack froze; Ianto never spoke about his parents, ever, "…That if I wished upon a star, maybe my dream would come true,"

"My Dad told me that too," Jack replied, just as quietly

"She was right," Ianto placed a hand on Jacks thigh, and tapped his fingers, like playing a piano, unconsciously, "I wished upon that star there," Ianto pointed the brightest star in the sky

"And what did you wish for?"

"For you to hold me," Jack smiled at Ianto

"Tell you what, how about if we wish upon that star, right there," Jack pointed to a star which seemed so far away and was straight out in front of them

"What do we wish for?"

"For forever," Jack smiled. Ianto looked up at Jack and placed a hand on his cheek before kissing his lips slowly and pushing Jack onto his back, finally curling up into his chest. There, Jack took off his coat and placed it over the both of them; neither of them moved all night.

Everybody wants an answer - everybody needs a friend,
we all need a shining star on which we can depend,

So tonight we're gonna wish upon a star,

We've never wished upon before,

To find what you're looking for.
