Perfectly Assembled

A/N: Here's another drabble-y ficlet from me. I really like how this came out. The idea was originally going to be after her and Nate broke up, but I never did it and now that Chuck pulled that BS in the finale I figured I could do it differently. And this was written prior to the Season 2 Finale, just so you know. James/Marcus is not a factor. Enjoy! R&R! Thanks! –Mac

Disclaimer: I don't own GG.

Perfectly Assembled

Blair returns to New York more broken than she's ever been before. Leave it to Chuck Bass to completely obliterate her heart. Although all she wants to do is curl up under her covers and cry for a hundred years, she doesn't let it show. She can't let it show. She won't give him the satisfaction.

She goes on a shopping spree, spending more than she ever has in a single day. She goes to the spa and treats herself to all the exclusive treatments. She gets a manicure and a pedicure. She gets her haircut—nothing drastic—and styled.

She dresses herself up. She does her makeup flawlessly. She slips on a pair of high hells and goes out to reintroduce herself to a social life. When she sees Chuck for the first time since the incident, which she has begun to refer to it as, she takes pride in the fact that she does not falter under his intense gaze. On the outside, she is perfectly put together.

But while on the outside she looks perfectly assembled, on the inside she is still broken. The wound has not closed. Her heart has not healed. While she still hurts deeply, she sees no reason why anyone should know that but her. So she doesn't let anyone see. Especially not him.

A/N2: This was based on a quote from an icon I saw once, I think.

"She might look perfectly assembled on the outside, but on the inside, she is more broken up than ever before."
