AN: This is an utterly pointless piece of fluff. I don't even think it's that good, but I thought I'd post it anyway to get some other opinions. Tell me what you think :D

Closure

The street was empty, vacant of the usual bustling crowds that filled it almost everyday. All the people had gone away to their homes to curl up in their warm beds, temporarily forgetting about the world and their unnerving anticipations to delve into what they hoped would be a peaceable slumber.

She was the opposite.

Tenten stood twiddling her thumbs and shuffling her feet against the sidewalk, apprehensive as her mind flooded with questions, all left unanswered. They swarmed in her mind, making her unable to focus on one before another took its place. Though, they weren't real questions as much as they were jabs at her conscience, little bits of doubt and uncertainty that nipped at her psyche until she couldn't take it anymore.

A few minutes had turned into ten.

He won't show, she thought, looking down either side of the street, which held no sight of her late-night visitor. She bit her lip when she realized she had only been played with, feeling angry as she squeezed her eyes shut and tried to repress tears.

How could I be so stupid? she inquired, infuriated with herself, He doesn't really care! How could I get drawn into all that nonsen—

Then, a familiar, dulcet tinkling reached her ears.

Her eyes shot back open, and she quickly wiped them free of wetness before she looked to her right. There, walking slowly towards her was a tall figure, shapeless in his black cloak with red clouds dancing across its bottom. She smiled when she saw the signature rice picker hat, which dangled small bells that glimmered in the yellow light of the street lamps.

When he came to her, he stopped right in front of her, his face still obscured by the extensions that hung down from his hat. Neither moved nor made sound. He looked at her, though she could not catch his gaze, and half of him adored her unfathomably, while the other half kept wondering if that was really her—if she really was standing right in front of him, so close that he could feel the soft breath she exhaled when her heart skipped a beat. She stared back, her dark, almond eyes wide as she waited for him to make the first move.

Then, without any preamble, he enveloped her in a giant hug, lifting her up so that only the very tips of her toes were touching the pavement. She was noticeably surprised as she stayed still in his arms for seconds, taken aback by his abrupt action. After moments passed, he found it strange that she wasn't hugging back, which led him to hold her tighter, desperate to get a reaction out of her. Much to his relief, he felt her arms wrap around his neck, holding herself to him while she brushed away the coverings around his face. She went in slowly and pressed her lips softly to his own.

When they broke from the chaste kiss, he nuzzled his nose to hers and whispered words in a sultry voice that sent shivers running down her spine.

"I missed you."

At that comment, all of the questions that had been plaguing her earlier immediately vanished, leaving not even a trace of doubt left in her mind.

END.
