The woods were a bright green, and the sun shone in the sky. Hinata frowned as she sat on the tree, casting her eyes to the bright sun.Her eyes shone as if she was about to cry when she fixed her eyes on Naruto's female teammate.

Ten minutes passed and something landed beside her. Turning, she saw her cousin and protector.

"Hinata-sama? What are you doing here?" he inquired. He wondered if he was invading her personal space. She was not with her teammates, so she probably needed her privacy. He should leave, he told himself. Besides, the awkward atmosphere had not abated.

"Ano…" she began.

He nodded, explaining that he was listening. Her hands were trembling, he realised.

"Is S-Sakura pretty?"

He paused to consider her question. Was Sakura pretty? He did not really notice. Well, she was pretty… sort of. "Yes," her finally replied. "You're pretty too, Hinata-sama," he added as an afterthought.

"Sakura is the b-bright, brilliant moon, and I… I a-am merely a s-star beside her. That must b-be why Naruto never notices me," she told him softly. He could see that she was on the verge of tears.

"Hinata…" he said, trying to comfort her but not knowing how to. "The moon depends on the light of a star-the sun- to shine, but stars shine with their own light. They are all unique. Naruto just hasn't noticed that yet. You are the star that lends others your light. You make them beautiful. You are beautiful too. "

Hinata blushed, embarrassed by the compliment. "Arigatou, neji-nii san!" The blushes only deepened when she realised what she had done. Embarrassed, she ran away,but he made no move to follow.

"He's a fool for not noticing how beautiful you are," Neji whispered to the winds.
