Okay, okay. A friend of mine made a comment that kinda bugged me, so I had to write this. Jess... (sticks tongue out) Wow, I am mature... Hehehe.

Disclaimer: Not mine! Just Izzy!

Elliot Stabler gave a small, frustrated sigh as he sat on the floor with his little daughter. "Come on, sweetheart," he pleaded, taking her hands again. "Mommy's going to be home soon."

Izzy just looked at him with big brown eyes and smiled.

"Don't you want to show her what a big girl you are, Izzy?"

A bright giggle escaped her as he pulled her to her feet.

Gently grasping her little hands, he urged her to take a step.

The eighteen month old took a wobbly step, then promptly fell back on her behind and started to crawl away.

He sighed and rested his head in his hand. She was so much like her mother it wasn't funny.

The front door opened, and his face fell. He knew that his daughter would walk on her own, but he had wanted to surprise his wife for her birthday. Looking up, he murmured, "Happy birthday, sweetheart."

Her brow furrowed. "Oh, God... El, why did you have to remind me?"

He snickered.

Pushing herself to her feet, Izzy took an unsteady step, her arms outstretched. "Ma!"

Both Elliot and Olivia looked on in surprise and delight as Izzy giggled and continued to move toward Olivia.

When she reached her feet, Olivia reached down and scooped Izzy up in her arms, kissing her head. "You're such a big girl, sweetheart!"

Izzy giggled and snuggled into her.

Elliot got to his feet, grinning. "Of course you wouldn't do it for me," he grumbled good-naturedly. "You only wanted to do it for Mommy."

Olivia snorted. "And what was her first word, Stabler?"

"Fin."

"The other one...?"

"Daddy." He grinned and kissed Izzy's head, then kissed Olivia softly.

She nodded. "Exactly," she said as she bounced their baby in her arms.

He couldn't stop the heart melting smile as he kissed Olivia again.

Izzy looked up at them again, stuffing her fist into her mouth. It would be a long time before she tried this whole 'walking' thing again.
