Hinata's Proposal
Angel of Anime
The Proposal
Neji had just returned from his mission with Naruto, Sakura, and Lee. His task was to escort the priestess Shion to a shrine so she could exorcise the evil Mouryou. When Hiashi asked him how it went, he answered, "The priestess we were escorting proposed to Naruto." Hinata overheard what her cousin was saying while she was in the kitchen cutting vegetables for the strew they were going to eat that night, and when she heard 'proposed to Naruto,' she nearly cut off her index finger!
P-proposed… to N-Naruto?
Feeling curious and a little faint, the girl moved in a little closer to the kitchen door to hear what else Neji had to say. "The idiot," he continued, "had no clue what she meant, though." He scoffed. Hinata felt slightly relieved, and the tenseness in her shoulders ceased as she relaxed with a sigh. However, just because Naruto hadn't understood what the woman was talking about, it didn't mean that no one explained it to him with smaller words. She listened to more.
"Her words were: 'And my power must be passed onto the next priestess. What do you say, Naruto? Are you going to help me?' His response was idiot, of course. 'Sure, I'll do whatever it takes!' he said, giving her a thumbs-up."
"Huh?!" exclaimed Hinata, overwhelmed, her expression as shocked as it would be if she'd been at the scene. Neji and Hiashi looked in her direction, but she paid no attention, then. Quickly she burst out the door to find Naruto at Ichiraku ramen shop.
She screamed, "Naruto!" He stared at her, confused.
"Huh? What is it, Hinata?"
The kunoichi was about ten feet from him, still running when she shrieked, "Naruto, will you marry me?!"
And then, darkness became her world.
a/n: I re-wrote this, but it's basically the same as before. I hope that this time the dialogue doesn't seem so stuffy (and more in character). Well, I've also decided to write another chapter for this, but just one more, I think. It'll probably be longer than this (or shorter, however it comes out). So, that'll be up a little later. Bye!
