I was re-reading files 646-654 and this popped into my head.

Disclaimer: Yes, I own Detective Conan. I'm so rich I can write fanfiction about my own works. And if you believe that, you own me five bucks, too.

Shinichi glanced at cars that the police had managed to detain, with any luck the murder's car would be here too.

Suddenly something flat and blue covered the top part of his vision. Startled he turned to see Heiji scaning the parking lot nervously.

"Hattori, why did you just put your hat-?"

"Ahou, the organization thinks you're dead. If one of them sees a dead man walking…"

Shinichi nodded. "Point."

The two walked toward the rows of cars.

"So, are you going to tell me now?"

"Hm? Tell you what?"

"About why the heck you're not Conan right now!" Heiji hissed in his ear.

"Haibara."

Heiji blinked. "What the little girl from-?"

Shinichi rolled his eyes. "Yes, the little girl from the play."

"What 'bout her?"

"Well, apparently I'm so predictable because she was already there before I changed back."

"So, you have another 24 hours then?"

"No, she said it won't last that long. I have about a half a day."

Shinichi stopped at the nearest car and rapped on the window. "Hi, we're helping the police can we see your ticket?"

"Hey, I'll check out this side." Heiji said jerking his head to the other side of the lot. Shinichi nodded taking note of the ticket.

Fifty cars and two cars that were suspicious later, Shinichi met up with Heiji.

"I've got two, how many do you have?"

Heiji frowned, giving Shinichi a playful glare. "Damn, I should have taken your side."

"Hey, I've got number 'one' in my name."

Heiji held his hand in a rude gesture. "Here's 'one' for yeh."

Shinichi laughed with a shake of his, before heading back to the car.

Heiji glanced at him out of the corner of his eye. "You know, Neechan was worried about you. The real you."

Shinichi looked at him. "Yeah, you said that you found it odd that she was acting cold to 'me'."

Heiji gave a causual shrug. "Well, when we thought that you lost your memory, she was more concerned about 'Conan' than 'Shinichi'."

Shinichi gave Heiji a sharp warning elbow to the ribs. "What are you getting at?"

"Figure it out."

Shinichi slowed down as he thought about what Heiji was implying.

When the other 'Shinichi' had 'lost his memory' Ran's first thought had been for Conan and if he was alright.

Shinichi paused. He was Conan. But Ran didn't know that and she was more worried more about Conan, not Shinichi. That meant that she cared more about that brat Conan than him…

Oh, God, was he becoming jealous of himself?

Heiji watched Shinichi's face become more and more confused, growing more smug as his friend became more puzzled.

At Shinichi's shocked look, Heiji took pity on him. "Oops. Sorry, Kudo, I didn't mean to break your brain!"

"Hattori!" Shinichi snapped, pulling the Western Detective into a playful headlock. Heiji sqawked, swatting at Kudo's arm as Shinichi rubbed his knuckles in to Heiji's hair.

Shinichi suddenly stopped, releasing Heiji with a uncomfortable look.

Heiji blinked giving Shinichi a puzzled look as the latter stared at his hands. "Kudo…?"

"That's that first time I've ever done that to you."

Heiji gave a gental smile as he slapped Shinichi's back. "How'd it feel?"

Shinichi blinked, giving Heiji his own shaky smile. "Good."

They walked in easy silence, spotting the girls and the 'Great Detective' talking to the Sato and Takagi.

"-They'll come crying back to us: The police."

Shinichi grinned as he held up his hand. "Three cars…"

I think it would be very weird for Shinichi to do normal stuff in his normal body, don't you?
