Author's note (May 3/2015)
Man. So many things I want to write this lifetime, so little time. I know people probably hate seeing these author's notes when they're expecting an update, please see below the reason I'm putting this one up.
It's probably small comfort to all of you, but I'll say that I have no intention of abandoning Till You Die. My goodness... I never suspected it would get so many followers in my absence. You all have my heartfelt appreciation for giving this undeserving story a chance.
My apologies for the lack of updates. I should be returning to it sometime this year, now that my schooling will be complete.
I do, however, intend there to be revisions to 'Till You Die' when I come back to it.
Truth be told, when I first started writing 'Till You Die', I thought it would be a maximum 3 chapters angsty short story. In other words… I didn't bother keeping a good record of my fanfic's plotline and minor characters. But, as the case with all my stories…I wound up taking things where I didn't expect them to go. I know, now, that if I had kept a good record, it would make the story easier to go back to after a hiatus (Oops!).
I also like to think I have matured a lot (with the help of—at times harsh—reviewer comments), both as a writer and an individual, since I have begun writing 'Till You Die'. There are some topics and issues I feel may have offended readers in the past, which I am keenly aware of now. Those things I plan to address in my revisions.
As for the revised story, I aim for it to feel familiar to you character-wise, but different enough plot/event wise for it to feel fresh. For instance…a lot of readers didn't seem to like the absence of Madara for an extended amount of time in this version, so I plan to do things another way.
Those of you who still recall 'Till You Die', I humbly ask you to share with me your thoughts on what you recommend needs revision, and what should absolutely be kept as is. I would like to learn about this story's reader preferences before I reshape the story.
(Also…do I remove and replace the chapters of this old version, or post an entirely new story?)
That's what I wanted to say with this author's note. Please feel free to leave me a response, review or through PM. As long as there's a way to reach you, I'll be sure to reply!
Thank you!
