Not So Scary

Summary: This had just gotten serious, and she didn't know if she was ready for serious. This relationship was just starting out; it was new. Those three words were reserved for older, more experienced relationships.

A/N Hey guys! So, this is based on something that happened to me a few days ago. I made it L/J. I would adore your feedback, not only on the story, but what you would do in this situation, because I'm sort've in it right now, and slightly freaking out. Anyways, let me know! Enjoy!

I love you.

Three words seemed to change her whole world. She didn't know where they had come from. They were so…new. This was the first time she had ever been told those words by someone who wasn't her family, or best friend. She didn't know how to respond, and she didn't understand why it had been said.

They just recently started liking eachother. Before, they were merely acquaintances that slowly became friends. They knew eachother because he had been dating her friend. Pay special attention to that "had been". Only a week ago, they had separated, and she, despite her love for her friend, was inwardly happy. Secretly, she had feelings for the boy, but she never believed he would reciprocate them so forwardly.

The day after the break up, he began to flirt with her, talk with her, play with her, and she did nothing but let it happen, because she wanted it to so bad. All the while, she still felt horrible inside. Her friend was supportive and understanding, something she didn't deserve. Despite this, she still found room not to care.

This upcoming weekend was to be their first outing together. He had asked exactly one week after the break up. She was excited, and couldn't wait until this weekend. Her friend was excited for her too, something that made her feel even worse. It was Wednesday evening, and both her friends and his friends had spent the evening together. As it got later, she was only left with him, and they began to talk.

She decided to get some sleep, so she said goodbye.

That's when he said it.

I love you.

She was frozen. She had no clue how she should respond to it. She was in shock. They weren't even dating, and he just throws that saying out of his mouth like it was nothing! She cherished that saying too much to just say it, so she avoided it.

"Goodnight," she said in return and left.

Later that evening, she sat in her bed, shaking. Those three words did something to her, changed her… This had just gotten serious, and she didn't know if she was ready for serious. This relationship was just starting out; it was new. Those three words were reserved for older, more experienced relationships, and she didn't know what to do in her's.

Next time she saw him, what if he said it again? Would he expect her to say it in return? Would she? She had no clue what would happen, and that scared the shit out of her.

She said it outloud.

"I love you."

It wasn't so scary when there was no one to say it to.

A/N So???? I need feedback!! Help your fellow fan-fic-er by letting me know how you liked this, and WHAT TO DO!

Love you all,

Alex!
