Zuko sat in his study, mulling through the piles of paper work on his desk. The entire desk was taken up with paperwork and even some had found its way to floor. He sighed and moved out from behind his desk, walking out to the balcony which overlooked the royal gardens. Looking out he saw his small family playing by the turtle duck pond. He watched as his wife bended small bubbles of water for the young prince to pop. He laughed lightly as he watched his son shriek in joy whenever he popped one. Deciding to put aside his Firelord duties for a while, he made his way down to the garden.

It was a sunny day and the water from the pond rippled as Katara bended it back and forward. Sitting down next to his wife and son, he wrapped his arms around them, pulling them into his warm embrace. Katara looked up at him with a warm smile, leaning forward, she gave him a small kiss before bringing her attention back to their son. She raised another water bubble from the pond and bended it towards Kuzon, his eyes widened with awe at the sight of the new bubble. Reaching forward slowly he ever so gently popped it, the spray from the bubble landing on his pale feature. He blinked in shock, his eyes wide with surprise before letting out a joyous shriek, his proud parents giggled together at his cuteness. Kuzon hearing his parent's quiet chuckles turned to survey them with interest. Zuko leaned forward and gently touched his nose to his sons, a wide grin plastered to his face. His smile grew even broader as he received a gummy grin in return. Kuzon held his hands out for his father, making small noises as he tried reach for him. Smile still on his face Zuko leaned down to receive him from his mother's arms, bringing him closer as he laid him across his stomach. The young prince automatically rested his head on his father's chest, taking in the warmth of his firebending father. Zuko tightened his arms protectively around his son, holding him close as reached up and stroked the child's head. He smiled to himself at the smallness of his son, who now was clinging tightly to the front of his Firelord robes. Katara sighed and felt a tear escape her eye as she watched her husband and son continue to hold each other.
Life was bliss.
