Neku would watch, watch Shibuya traffic from his small apartment roof, his headphones drowning out all other earthly sound. Were he a little more observant of the world around him, perhaps he would have noticed the brush of wings, the beating of celestial bodies in a dimension a hair's breadth away.

"Feeling good, Phones?"

Unheard.

"Phones, you shouldn't listen to your music so loudly, you know." He would smile, hands in his pockets, body suspended only by the power of the wings from his back.

"All I want is my radio…"

The angel smiled. "Mellow music. Oddly suiting."

And Neku would open his eyes, barely feeling the slow trains, other people's eyes, words lost when he would see a shimmer of light, perhaps hear an intruding thread of good natured laughter.

"Tell the DJ… DJ keep it slow…"

"You noticing stuff now, kiddo?"

Neku would nod to the words, words that seemed everywhere and nowhere. Sixteen on a summer roof, mind still focused on the events a year prior.

"Well, good to hear that you're at least a little more social. Don't go standin' on roofs now, you want the facts—"

"And I'll give you proof." Neku said softly, finishing his idol's thought, eyes wide.

The angel nodded, adjusting his wire frames. "… I'll see you around, then."

And Neku would watch him disappear, far away from the chemo air of Shibuya.
