Just one teeny, tiny warning... This has lots of FLUFF. And thanks to a friend of mine who thought of the title.

Present

He wasn't sure how to give it to her, even though he's been practicing lines like "Hey. Merry Christmas. Here's my gift to you." and "I just wanna greet you a Merry Christmas!"

Brendan had to hurry up. In a few minutes, his best friend -cough- girlfriend -cough- will arrive. He fiddled with the box he was holding, which was his gift to his precious May. Thank the PokéNav for the call feature.

"Meet me at the Lilycove Pokémon Center," Was all he told her. He can't expect May to heed his call, but he can hope.

The center's door opened. May finally arrived. Her eyes wandered around the center, looking for Brendan. Once she found him, she gave him a wave.

Mustering up enough courage to face her, he stood up from his seat, walked to where she was and handed to her the box he was fiddling with earlier.

"What's this?" May asked him curiously.

"Just open it," Brendan insisted. May turned to the box she was holding. It was a purple velvet box with a tiny ribbon in the upper left corner. She obediently flipped the lid open and saw a glossy turquoise stone. It had a starburst in the middle and it twinkled happily when light hits its surface.

"Brendan... Is this... what I think it is?"

Brendan smiled, then scratching his head, a light blush evident on his face. "Uh... Lucas and I had a little trading. Gold and Red did the same."

"Trading?"

"F-For Christmas gifts... Lucas wanted a nice and cute gift for Dawn, so we scraped up some of our stuff."

"Really? You did that for me, Brendan?" May asked him.

"W-Well, yeah. He called me one day asking for help on what he was gonna give to Dawn. Then he asked me if I already had something to give to you. I told him that I didn't have anything in mind yet, so--"

Brendan's ramble was put to a halt when May placed a soft kiss on the corner of his mouth. It caused him to freeze, although just for a short moment.

She smiled at him, happy. "Thank you, Brendan! I'll treasure it!"

He was mounted on the floor for a moment. Recovering, he made his way to May, who was now the one rambling. She was already halfway through the door.

"...said that she had dinner prepared for us. If we go home now, we'll still be able to catch up with our families and have a party--"

Her elbow was held back, and so was her whole self. A few seconds after that, Brendan laid a kiss on her forehead. It was May's turn to freeze.

He grinned. "I'll take that as a thank you," and he grasped her hand, then pulling her out of the Pokémon Center.

"Come on. Let's go home."

She held his hand with equal tightness. They were on their way home. "Right! Let's go home!"
