A/N I don't own Psych.

After a particularly hard day, Juliet o'Hara found herself was driving around Santa Barbara. That day, she had let a suspect get a way and Lassiter had given her a lecture that rivaled in length the ones she had gotten in high school.

By now, she was surprised to find herself in front the Psych office this late at night. Only Shawn's motorcycle was parked out front. Then she remembered that Gus was away on a pharmaceutical conference. Hesitantly, she got out of the car and knocked on the door.

Juliet was hoping that Shawn wouldn't open the door, but she was disappointed when Shawn opened the door, holding a pineapple-shaped cup in one hand.

"Jules!" he exclaimed, "What's up? Do you have a case for me?"

"No, Shawn," she replied, "I just..I don't know. I'll see you later."

"Jules, you look sad," Shawn frowned, "come on in." He held up his cup, "I've got pineapple juice!"

Smiling, Juliet reluctantly allowed herself to be led into the office. Shawn brought her into the living room, and she sat down on the couch.

"Do you want something to drink?" asked Shawn.

"I should really go," said Juliet while trying to get up, "I don't want to bother."

"But Jules, then I'll get lonely," pouted Shawn. He handed her soda. "Come on, stay while. I was about to watch Cheaper By The Dozen."

"Fine," Juliet relented, "but only for a little while." She took the soda and sat back down on the couch. Shawn happily took a seat next to her and they sat and watched.

By the time the movie was over, Juliet was asleep and leaning on Shawn's shoulder. Shawn looked at the sleeping detective and thought about what it would have been like had they made that 'mistake'. That night he had been happy to hear Juliet frantically assembling and reassembling her gun.

Now he leaned down and kissed her forehead. That would have been one mistake worth making. Then, Shawn sat back and relaxed, soon falling asleep himself.

Juliet was the first to wake up, around midnight. She shifted and tried to quietly sneak out.

"Jules? Leaving already?" Shawn stood up.

"Sorry Shawn, I've got work in the morning," said Juliet, feeling guilty.

"Was that a mistake?" asked Shawn. He stood up and walked over to her. As he said 'mistake' he was past close talking probability.

"I've made so many mistakes, what's one more?" She met him the rest of the way.

Definitely a mistake worth making.
