Spoons
L was, quite simply, bored. He wasn't used to boredom. He always had one thing or another scratching at his brain. But now with crime rate down so extremely low, he had nothing to amuse him until Kira made his next move.
He often said boredom was for the weak minded, but he felt almost as though his brain was melting out of his eyes. He rubbed his feet against each other, an spotted a spoon still covered in sugar. With a sudden burst of childishness, he licked the spoon clean and hung it from his nose. But that wasn't quite enough.....
"Uh L, about these papers, when you said – oh my god." Raito exclaimed, cut off mid sentence as he finally looked at the great detective, to see spoons hung from his ears and nose and mouth.
"Yes Raito-kun?" L asked with pouted lips. Dark eyes observed him with almost amusement. Raito gawked, opened his mouth to say something, but shook his head as though thinking better of it. He promptly turned around and walked away, flinging the papers over his shoulder in exasperation.
But he didn't leave without a mutter of "I've learned not to ask."
