Proving A Point

InuYasha and Co. were strolling through yet another forest on a lovely Naraku-and-evil free afternoon, when they bumped into Sesshoumaru. Literally. Slammed into them.

Or, more accurately, InuYasha and Sesshoumaru flew at each other angrily as the others looked on in passive annoyance.

"C'mon, InuYasha, can we please just go?" called Kagome. There were heartfelt agreements all around, including from Jaken, who faced a withering glare from Sesshoumaru in response. The two brothers calmed down, and the two groups began easing around each other.

As Kagome passed Rin, she instinctively knelt and said hello. Rin waved happily, and the two struck up a conversation as the others waited. Kagome finally stood after hugging Rin, who skipped towards Sesshoumaru and grabbed hold of his robes.

"Wow, Sesshoumaru really cares about Rin, doesn't he?' Kagome whispered to InuYasha, who shrugged disinterestedly.

"Excuse me?" Sesshoumaru growled. The groups turned to face each other once more.

"Well, it's not a secret, is it?" asked Sango.

"I care nothing for humans." Sneered the mighty Yokai.

"But you…love…Rin…" trailed Kagome.

"Ridiculous." InuYasha sighed as Kagome faced Sesshoumaru, hands on her hips, indicating she was about to verbally kick his ass.

"Oh, really?"

"Yes."

"Really?"

"Yes."

"What would you do if I tried to kill her right now?" Kagome asked. Sesshoumaru's eyes turned red, his fangs and claws elongated and his markings became more visible.

"I WOULD RIP OFF YOUR ARMS AND LEGS AND PLUCK OUT YOUR EYES AND SHOVE THEM DOWN YOUR THROAT AND DESTROY YOUR BRAIN." He hissed. He had snatched Rin into his arms and stood protectively, while she idly played with his hair. InuYasha's jaw had dropped, along with Sango's, while Miroku and Shippou's eyes widened considerably. Sesshoumaru seemed to realize what he'd said, and coughed lightly before straitening up.

"I mean…nothing?"

"That's what I thought." The groups hastily moved away from each other.

"Just proving my point." Kagome cheerily called.

Sesshoumaru muttered and continued on, still holding Rin.
