AN: I do not own this song or PJO. My first songfic, and I wrote this in about twenty minutes and I was really tired. This is Carrie Underwood's song, "The Night Before (Life Goes On)" but I have changed it to "The Night Before (Will Life Go On?)". Please listen to the song at least once before you read this and/or while you're reading this. This is about the night before Percy's sixteenth birthday and the battle that is sure to come.

Standing on the beach,

Sneakin' out of the cabins,

Checkin' out the moon,

Artemis's light.

He takes off his jacket,

and he wraps it around her shoulders,

walks up behind her and holds on tight.

And she says, "I don't want this night to end,

Why does it have to end?"

Tomorrow they'll be fighting for their lives,

Their best friends,

will be there too,

all within their main view.

He's got a crazy plan lined up,

but he won't talk,

his daddy's thoughts.

It ain't much, but will it be enough?

They've been dreading this moment all summer long,

The night before,

Will life go on?

A tear falls off her cheek,

and right when it hits his arm she says,

"Come on Percy, let's get some sleep."

They take one last walk around camp,

and man it already looks different.

He kicks a rock and says, "Life ain't fair!

And this saving the world stuff, I don't know.

I just don't want to let you go."

Tomorrow they'll be fighting for their lives,

Their best friends,

will be there too,

all within their main view.

He's got a crazy plan lined up,

but he won't talk,

his daddy's thoughts.

It ain't much, but will it be enough?

They've been dreading this moment all summer long,

The night before,

Will life go on?

Yeah, that's what their parents told them,

and these kids, well, they didn't want to listen, no.

Yeah, there's nothing they could do,

there's nothing they could say.

Now they know how it feels when love has to walk away.

Tomorrow they'll be fighting for their lives,

Their best friends,

will be there too,

all within their main view.

He's got a crazy plan lined up,

but he won't talk,

his daddy's thoughts.

It ain't much, but will it be enough?

They've been dreading this moment all summer long,

Now here it is,

they don't have long.

The night before,

Will life go on?
