Flower of Hawaii

Flash smirked as he went through the cafeteria; there were several new faces in the room that day. He figured they were either new recruits or reserve members that had decided to change their status to full on members, either way it was new people to meet and that was always interesting.

Flash soon noticed a girl that didn't have anything to eat, she was just talking with some of the others, he figured she probably wasn't hungry for one reason or another and shrugged it off.

"You do know you should eat something if for no other reason than to keep up your strength" Batman said from where he walked up behind her.

"I'm not hungry, Batman… I'm going to go back to check on something" she replied quickly

"Really…"

"Yes, bye, Batman, I'll be back up here later" she replied and left for the transporter

Batman could tell she wasn't telling the truth, so he went to investigate what might be her reason for not eating on the tower. Then Superman found him.

"Batman, is something on your mind?" Superman asked

"It's not important" Batman said curtly

"It must be important for you to be in detective mode, I know you Batman I know that it takes something big to get you in this mode.

"You got me there, but I'm not sure about this." Batman said then told Superman what had happened

Meanwhile the strange young hero was in street clothes walking the main street of her home town of Lanai City, Hawaii

"Aloha" she said as she walked into her favorite, family owned restaurant.

"Aloha, Lanakila, what would you like today?" Kai asked

"Kai, you know me, what do I normally get?" Lanakila asked a smirk playing on her features; they had been friends since grammar school even though he was a year older than her.

"Oh yeah about that…"

"Kai… don't play with me"

"We're just out of your usual drink, that's all"

"Whew, had me worried there, I can get a different drink"

"Okay, your usual…"

"Don't forget about my…"

"How can I forget when you and your mother won't let me?"

"Mahalo, and sorry for being a pest"

"You couldn't be a pest if you tried." He laughed and went to get her food.

Lanakila smiled wirily, at least here she had people that really knew her, and knew what she was going through and what it meant to her for them to be willing to make adjustments for her.
