Heart pounding.

The adrenaline rush.

Sweat dripping off his body.

Muscles aching, straining, burning.

A low moan, a grunt, escaping from his lips.

The flood of endorphins throughout his body.

The heat coursing through his body, pushing him.

His breath coming hard, panting, lungs ready to burst.

The burst of release and the feel of victory before collapsing, spent, exhausted.

There was nothing like it. God, he missed that.

Slowly, he sat up in bed, reaching for his cane.

He only ran in his dreams now.

Only the pain stayed.
