In Between Light and Dark

Daisuke couldn't believe what a bad month he was having; first there was Rika and Risa leaving the country, to live abroad with their parents who had started to work in America, in order to spend more time with them. Just that would have been enough, but to add the cherry to the cake his grandfather had fallen seriously ill just a week after the twins announced their departure. The last thing he wanted to do was to be in that house, with his mother distraught over her father's sickness, he hated seeing her like that. It broke his heart completely. All the had to happen the year he started high school, the stress of the above issues combined with plies of homework was too much to bare, Daisuke was breaking down slowly.

There was one place he could go, Hiwatari Satoshi's house. He knew he be accept there since Satoshi's adoptive father died suddenly the previous year, living the boy alone in the massive empty space of a home. Surely he was lonely...He and the boy had been best friends for two years now, sometimes even crossing the border of the friendship and sharing a kiss or two. But Satoshi never let himself be alone with the other boy for too long, usually he'd leave right away once things started getting too heated between them, afraid that he wouldn't be able to control his urges to ruin the boy's innocence.

It was disappointing, maybe Daisuke wouldn't mind if Satoshi did loose control and go over the edge. Niwa gulped, had he really just thought that? All of a sudden he felt giddy and excited, the thought of Hiwatari doing that to him was making him hard. Daisuke shook his head, there was no way he could allow that to happen, it would be too embarrassing if it happened in public. He'd seen Hiwatari walk away strangely; almost awkwardly hobble away from their kissing sessions, he wondered, had Satoshi gone stiff from just that? He blushed deeply, that thought was getting his blood going even more.

He'd managed to cool down by the time he got home, but was already half hard right from the previous thoughts. "Dai-chan, are you alright?" His face was red, and he's mother noticed it right away, she got up from where she was and placed a hand on her son's forehead, tears still glinting in her eyes. "You're warm Daisuke; don't tell me you're sick too..." He gently removed her hand, "No mom I'm fine, just tired so I'm going to bed." He smiled gently and walked off, living his mother concerned.

He waiting for him to answer, the ringing was making him so nervous, "Hello?" Satoshi's deep voice sounded suddenly, making Daisuke redden slightly; thank God he couldn't see him. "Satoshi, I um, have a favour to ask of you," his voice trembled slightly, he was struggling to build up the courage to ask but he knew he had no other choice. "Yes, Daisuke?" The sound of concern in Satoshi's voice was soothing, Daisuke breathed deeply, "I um, was wondering if, you'd maybe let me, um, stay at your place...just for a while?" There was a long pause, racking anxiety through the red head. ⌠Daisuke...are you sure you want to? I have no problems with it but-⌠his breath was deep, his voice low and husky, obvious flustered by the thought of Daisuke living with him even for a short time period. "Things at home are bad, the atmosphere is just too depressing, you're the only person I can escape to, please let me stay with till things get better?" Satoshi knew he couldn't possible ignore the boy's pleas, he was just so sweet, hearing the sadness in his voice was heart breaking...."of course Daisuke, you know I'd do anything for you..." Daisuke couldn't help but cry slightly at the sincerity the boy's words held, they meaning they held for him was beyond the words of any others.
