I do not own any characters from Inuyasha. Another One-Shot, enjoy!

Rin loved Lord Sesshomaru. The Lord and his brother had defeated Naraku years ago and she was very glad. Now, at the age of 23, she still needed to wed according to Lord Sesshomaru, but all her suitors, human and demon, she shunned away. She only wanted one, but he was too blind to see it.

She sat the garden that she had maintained herself and sighed. It was just a normal day for her, but she hoped with each new sun, Sesshomaru would realize she loved him. Not just a puppy love for her countless rescues, but a fiery, passionate love. It was like the air she breathed and she couldn't imagine her life without him.
She was a beautiful human, the demon servants had told her so, but Lord Sesshomaru liked demons. She had noticed that he hadn't found a mate yet. She walked into the castle and down the hall to see the door to his study open. She peered in to see him working patiently on something. It didn't look terribly important because he sensed her and looked up.

"Rin, come in." She obeyed the soft command, but she wanted more than anything to run into his arms and feel his kisses on her lips. Damn her human emotions.

"Lord Sesshomaru, I wish to speak with you." She closed the door behind her. "No more suitors, please. I do not want a mate like that."

He looked somewhat shocked, but quickly hid it. She didn't notice it. "What is your ideal mate, Rin?"

"I imagine he would be strong, able to protect me. He would be nice to me and he would have authority. He has educated me and made me feel---" She looked up, as she stopped dreaming the ideal and was speaking of him. "I'm sorry, my lord." She calmly slipped out and ran down the hall, crying softly. What had she been thinking?

Lord Sesshomaru would never agree to marry her. She was a human. She wasn't in the mood for any of this. She resolved to run away and that night she did.

Rin lived peacefully in the village that Kagome and Inuyasha lived in. She never spoke, her heart broken from what she had done. She had no idea that Sesshomaru had been looking for her for these past weeks. Especially from the moment she was gone and he had noticed. She weaved and Kagome noticed she always looked sad.

"Why are you always so sad, Rin?" She asked. No answer. "Please, I can help." Rin shook her head, Kagome couldn't help her. It was out of the question. Rin had to forget about Lord Sesshomaru.

She walked away from Kagome, only to be stopped by Inuyasha. "Answer her." Rin kept walking ast him. She should have never left. She had betrayed her lord. She stared into the distance and saw a white thing in the distance. It began picking up speed and she ran for her hut. Cowering in it, she observed the scene before her: her beloved Lord Sesshomaru.

"Where is she, Inuyasha?" Sesshomaru asked, calmly. Not looking for a fight because Rin could become collateral damage.

"In her hut, Lord Sesshomaru." Kagome answered. "Go to her. She misses you, anyone can see it in her eyes."

Lord Sesshomaru walked into the hut and she was in the corner with tears streaming down her face. She tried to hid, but he walked over and picked her up. Then he did the unthinkable, he hugged the poor girl.

"Lord Sesshomaru." She whispered and he smiled at her.

"Rin, you shouldn't have run away. You could have gotten hurt." Sesshomaru answered.

"I'm sorry..."

"I thought about what you said." Sesshomaru cut her off. "You are right. No more suitors, for you already have one." She looked at him quizzically. "I have neglected your feelings, Rin. Forgive me for not realizing how much I need you to stay with me." He knelt to be eye-level with her and wiped away her tears.

"You mean it?" She whispered, unsure.

"Of course. Come to my home, Rin, and be my mate. Be mine."
