She ran a hand through her dark untamed strands, raising her head as she let out a long sigh. This might well be the last day she would see the sunrise, the lighted danced in her red tinted brown orbs. A gentle hand tapped on the shoulder, on instinct Lal Mirch turned her head around to face the other way, only to have a waiting finger poke her cheek. Instantly her brows were drawn into a frown, she clinched her fist and aimed it at the prankster's head, only to have it caught halfway in the mid-air.

"Hah, you really are a cold instructor. You could at least try saying 'Good Luck' before sending me off to the battlefield." Colonnello beamed at her, her expressions softened. "Just doing that much can make your student pretty damn happy, you know?" She felt her cheeks heating up and immediately turned her face away.

She couldn't bring her herself to wish him 'Good Luck'. She has never hoped that he would face these kinds of dangers, but she knew by heart that it was a useless thought. They were soldiers, trained to kill. At least this time it could divert his attention from what she was about to do, the scarification to protect the 7³.

"I can't." Her voice was slightly quivering. Colonnello stretched out his long fingers and carefully laid them by the side of her cheeks, turning her face towards him. Her naturally pink lips were pressed against each other, her brows dropped by the sides. She wasn't crying, yet her eyes, tinted with sadness, were just a little bit more moist than usual, they were only inches away from his yet they seemed so far away.

"Kora! Stop making that face again." He pinched her cheeks, earning him a painful kick right in the stomach. Colonnello clinched onto his stomach in pain. "Ou! You hit harder than a man." Lal Mirch immediately face lit up a bright red. "Idiot." her muttering was almost silent. Raising her clenched fist towards him, only to be caught again by his strong hand. Their eyes met. Reflecting each other's expressions as they were caught up in a moment of trance.

"But you are still cute, in your own way." He closed his eyes and leaned forward, further reducing the distance in between. Lal Mirch's eyes widen as she felt something so soft, something so warm and sweet press against her lip. A pleasurable feeling transmitted through the kiss, in ripples of waves, taking over her.

She was still engrossed in that frozen moment which felt like a life time, he pulled away with a smile of victory. She seemed to be stuck in another world, her orbs just stared blankly at him, unable to comprehend what had just happened.

"I..."

"Colonnello, sir, we need to set out now!" A voice echoed from a far, interrupting his unfinished sentence. There was a moment of awkward silent. He let a sigh of defeat and moved away from her, almost against his will.

"Gotta go, I will continue when we come back alive, see ya. Kora!" Waving his hand he ran across the gradually brightening horizontal. Lal Mirch ran a finger on where they were connected for that precious second. As the last bit of his blond strands was swallowed up by the distance, she felt warm salty droplets uncontrollably sliding down her cheeks.

"Good Luck, and goodbye."
