Just a warning, my mind is taken over by depressing things like death at the moment, so anything I write within the month will have something to do with death.

"Zick," Elena whined, "Where are you taking me?"
She heard a short laugh from the boy guiding her. She had a blindfold on and repeatedly stumbled as Zick had her climb higher and higher. She knew it was only a hill, Zick had told her that before they started climbing, but it seemed more like a mountain.
For her birthday, Zick had made sure she had been treated as royalty. When the huge party he had thrown her ended, he made her put the blindfold on and drove somewhere roughly an hour away(or so it seemed like). Then he made her start climbing the hill.
"You'll see soon enough, I promise." Elena relaxed slightly at the familiar voice. She'd known that voice since they were ten, eleven years ago.
They continued climbing for another ten minutes before Zick ordered her to take her blindfold off.
What she saw was absolutely breathtaking. The sun was setting over the ocean, the last light of the day making the sky orange, yellow, and red. A faint breeze carried the scent of saltwater toward them.
"Zick, it's... amazing!" Elena fell into Zick's embrace, though he pulled away a moment later.
He got down on one knee and carefully slide a black velvet box out of his pocket.
"Elena, I've been in love with you for eleven years, ever since we were kids. You've always been by my side and without you I'd probably be dead right now." He opened the box, revealing a gold ring with a good sized diamond placed in the middle. "Elena Potato, will you-"
Zick fell on his side, eyes wide with surprise as they glazed over. Elena felt something wet roll down her cheeks, but her mind wasn't able to comprehend what exactly it was.
"Zick!" She fell on her knees next to her lover's side. "Zick! You can't die now! Zick! Please, wake up! Tell me you're okay!"
The boy didn't answer.
A cruel laugh filled Elena's ears. She whipped around to see a large man dressed in a way that reminded her of a clown.
"Y-you!" she managed to choke out through her raw throat.
"Yes, me. After eleven years, I finally get my revenge on the boy who ruined my plan to kill all the Tamer's! And now, I shall kill you, the boy's best friend, lover, and almost-fiance." The man shuffled forward, his hand raised toward her.
No one heard her cries and pleas for help.
It is said that the ghost of the couple that died on that hill can be seen at sunset, the boy down on one knee, holding a black velvet box with a diamond ring inside, proposing to the girl, yet before he can finish the question, they both vanish as the sun disappears beyond the horizon.
