"I'm fat, aren't I?"

The question fell from his lips while he was tinkering with something next to her on one of the rather grubby looking couches. She was flipping through a girlie magazine, her feet were pulled up between them, pressing against his hip. Her brown eyes flickered up from the glossy pages to stare at his face, a slim eyebrow disappearing to her hairline.

"What?"

Numbuh Two had never seemed to care much about his size when they were all smaller but, since they turned twelve, he seemed to have little pools of insecurity forming in his brain. She was probably the only one to really notice the change in his eating and usually jolly behavior.

"I asked if I was fat," he repeated, blue eyes only looking at the screw he was currently attempting to use to hold together a panel on his toy. A hand moved to brush shaggy brown bangs from his forehead. She really wasn't sure when the aviators' cap disappeared only leaving his goggles.

"No, you ain't," Abby answered, turning a page and nudging his arm with the tip of one her white Mary-Jane's. She always found herself being confided in for advice. Wally, Kuki, and occasionally Nigel sought her out for her collect wisdom though she found herself enjoying it more when Hoagie came. She chose to ignore that fact for now, at least.

"But, Cree-" a swift but, gentle kick to his side silenced the sentence on his tongue. She wasn't going to listen to him mope about something her evil sister said. It was aggravating enough to just hear her name come from him.

"Who cares what she says, Abby don't,"

"Not just her, everyone-"

She rolled her eyes, "Don't listen, boy," her magazine was now laying discarded across her stomach as she turned her full attention to the boy, "You don't gotta change for anybody."

The darker-skinned girl smiled, when Hoagie nodded, taking in what she said. After a moment of silence, she took the coated pages of her teen magazine back between her fingertips as he went back to the piece of machinery in his own.

"Sides," she added after awhile, making Hoagie blush lightly, a content smile passing unnoticed across his chubby but, cute face, "Abby likes you the way you are."
