Summary: She loved him—even if she didn't know it herself. Backed into an alleyway, about to be raped by drunk men, she instinctively cries out to him.

A/N: This isn't part of my series—this is my first attempt at an actual story.

Kyoko mentally cursed her luck. Of course the one night she'd forget her wallet would happen to be the same night that her voice rehearsal for her upcoming drama ran past ten in the evening.

The petite seventeen year-old clutched her jacket tighter around her as she glanced forlornly at the passing cabs, all the while wishing for pants and sneakers instead her skirt and boots.

Sighing with acceptance, the young actress continued her trek home lost in thought. That is until she got that prickly sensation on the back of her neck—the sensation that causes your stomach to knot up and your heart to race because you know something bad is going to happen.

Kyoko quickened her pace past the alleyways, anxious to get away from the darkness. Her dark eyes shot frantically around, looking for a person—anyone—who could get her the hell out of there.

Her legs started to tremble and her eyes started to dilate when she realized no one was around. She had to mentally calm herself to keep from hyperventilating when she registered the soft tapping of footsteps behind her.

Switching into a power walk, she hoped to dissuade her followers. They simply increased their momentum.

She heard a chuckle and began to smell the pungency of alcohol.

Oh god. I'm going die. I'm going to be raped. Help somebody—help!

Suddenly, Ren's smiling face appeared in her mind. My cell phone!

Kyoko quickly picked up her momentum as she messily punched the numbers in.

"Hello? Mogami-san, is that you?"

"Tsuruga-san! Please, I know you're really busy, but can you pick me up? I'm on my way back from my voice lessons and—"

Kyoko screamed as her phone clattered to the ground. "Not so fast, sweet cheeks. Your little boyfriend won't be able to play hero. You need to learn your lesson about wandering around at night…"

Kyoko shuddered as he breathed on her face.

"Oi, Matsura. She was my target. I get first dibs. She looks like a virgin, doesn't she?"

Then Kyoko started to fight. She tried to imagine Sho's face to bring about her demons—but even they were cowering in fear. It was then she realized that she couldn't be scary and brave when she was so frightened that she felt like her heart was about to burst from her chest.

The second man grabbed her roughly and shoved her against the wall. The other two men held her arms as their friend slipped his hand up her shirt.

The frightened woman tried using her legs, but they were successfully pinned. Her blouse was ripped open and tears clouded her vision. And all she could think of was Ren.

Please save me.

Kyoko sucked in a breath, preparing to scream for all she was worth but the men, albeit drunk, were lucid enough to foresee her plans and a hand was shoved over her mouth.

She barely registered car brakes slam and, through her tears, she couldn't see Ren burst in the ally and pull off her molesters.

All she could do was slid down onto to ground and take deep breaths as she blocked out the cries of agony from behind her. When a shadow hovered over her she knew who it was.

Without thinking she flung herself into his warm, soothing embrace.
