Roy stood on the front stoop, searching his pockets. He was sure he'd had his key when he left. So where was it now? Toy glanced at the garage. No bicycle. Ed was gone, so banging on the door wouldn't do anything. Roy walked around to the side of the house and looked in the kitchen window. There was his house key laying on the table, the last place he now remembered leaving it. He sighed. He'd have to kick in his own door. Roy walked to the back and aimed a well-placed sidekick to the side of the door. The doorjamb splintered and, after another kick, broke, falling on the floor with a clatter.

"Roy, I'm home!"

"Oh, hey, Ed. Where were you?"

"I went grocery shopping. I thought I'd be home before you. How'd you get in?"

"Um… The back door?"

"Roy, you left your key on the kitchen table. How did you get in?" They were silent for a minute. Then, Ed groaned.

"Oh, Roy, you didn't." Roy grinned sheepishly. Ed groaned again.

"Roy, it's your house. How could you forget you key? What did you do before I moved in?" Roy shrugged.

"I don't know. I did the same thing I do now. I used to kick the door in." Ed shook his head, exasperated.

"Roy, why couldn't you just wait until I got home? You didn't have to kick the door in."

"I wanted to get out of my uniform and shower."

"Roy, I swear, I'm going to superglue your key to your hand the next time you forget it." Roy winced just imagining the pain that would cause. Ed sighed, then, looked up at Roy, grinning.

"So, have you taken that shower yet?" Roy smirked.

"Not yet. Wanna join me."

The next day, Roy came home to find he had forgotten his key again. The note on the door said so.

"Roy, you left you key on the kitchen table again. Look under the mat. There's a spare key. THAT IS WHERE IT WILL STAY. ~ Ed." Roy smiled and opened the door.

A/N: This came about the day I locked myself out of my house. I hope you like it.
