Hi. I'm Darkness Revolution. I'm new to this site, so it will probably be awhile before I put anything else up. PLEASE R&R!

Just a Dream: Kagome's Worst Nightmare

It was two weeks after the day she turned eighteen

All dressed in white

Goin' to the church that night…

Kagome set three things into a box: Inuyasha's hakama shirt, the rosary she used to make him 'sit', and the Shikon Jewel, now completed.

She had his box of letters in the passenger seat

Sixpence in a shoe, something borrowed, something blue

And when the church doors opened up wide

She put her veil down, trying to hide the tears

She just couldn't believe it

She heard the trumpets from the military band

And the flowers fell out of her hand…

Tears streamed down Kagome's face as she stood in front of the old god tree. She couldn't believe he was gone. After all this time, after all they went through, he had to die on her like that.

Baby why'd you leave me?

Why'd you have to go?

I was counting on forever, now I'll never know

I can't even breathe

It's like I'm looking from a distance

Standing in the background

Everybody's saying 'he's not coming home now'

This can't be happening to me

This is just a dream…

Each of Kagome's friends said a few words, but when Kagome's turn came around, she choked up. She gripped the box, holding on to what she had left of Inuyasha. With Naraku gone for good, the sacred jewel was completed, but Inuyasha wasn't there to see it. Kikyo laid a comforting hand on Kagome's shoulder, and even Miroku wasn't in a good enough mood to grope. Shippo was crying uncontrollably, and even Sango shed a few tears. The only one not crying (besides Jaken, who, surprisingly, kept silent) was Sesshomaru. However, he did say a few words, and his golden eyes were glazed over with anger and loss. One could tell he was sad, because he didn't even try to steal the Tetsusaiga. Rin was sad, but she never really knew Inuyasha, so she didn't cry.

Baby why'd you leave me?

Why'd you have to go?

I was counting on forever, now I'll never know

Oh, I'll never know…

It's like I'm looking from a distance

Standing in the background

Everybody's saying 'he's not coming home now'

This can't be happening to me

This is just a dream…

Kagome jolted awake. She was in the Feudal Era. A half-completed Shikon Jewel hung around her neck. Everyone was asleep around a campfire. Shippo was on his back, snoring. Miroku (who had recently been smacked) was asleep next to Sango. Kilala was curled up next to them, and Inuyasha (thank God!) was up in a tree, fast asleep.

"It was only a nightmare," Kagome reassured herself, "thank God it was just a dream…"

This is just a dream…
