A/N: So. I started this story in 2009. It's 2019. I'm three months shy of taking a decade to write this. And it's been three years since my last update. I'm sorry to say that it probably won't be getting better than this. There's a couple of sections (with bold headers) that summarize what should have been happening there. This chapter is coming to you as is.

This one's for all of the amazing readers I've had over ten years. Thank you for caring about this story as much as you did.

Inheritance of the Elves

Chapter 15

Confession and An Ending

Bill's wand whipped out of its holster and was immediately trained upon the person in front of him. His presence had not been noticed until that moment.

"Bill! What are you doing here?" Blue eyes were wide with shock at the presence of the other Weasley.

"When you were nine, what did I get you for your birthday?"

"What are you on about Bill?"

"Answer me!" The growl that tore itself from Bill's throat shocked both of them.

"A Cannon poster! You got me my first Cannon poster."

Bill had dearly wished that the person in front of him had gotten the answer wrong. Because that would mean that the person in front of him would not have been his baby brother. But he had gotten the answer. Which meant it was not his brother that had left to see Harry.

"Who was it that went with Dumbledore?"

"Huh?" Ron fidgeted as Bill scrutinized him.

"You're not a good liar, Ron. Tell me." The wand in his had remained firmly directed between his brother's eyes.

The faux innocent look was quickly replaced by one that was mulish. "Malfoy."

A spell flew from his lips the instant his brother spoke the name. Not a moment more passed before he was summoning his patronus to take the message to Harry.

oOoOoOo

Harry discreetly sighed. The room was tense and awkward. Hermione continually hinted that Nimbus and the others should leave. They were doing an admirable job of ignoring the increasingly blatant remarks. Ginny's hand sought his constantly. She stretched her arm across her brother to touch him. Her brothers, who had been tortured by Voldemort, were ignored. Ron just sat in the corner observing quietly which was disconcerting in its own fashion.

Just as Nimbus began to speak of something else in an attempt to lighten the mood, a patronus flitted through the wall. There was a distant sound of rushing footsteps as the guards ran to find the patronus and its recipient.

The wispy blue-white of the panther shone dimly as it sought the intended addressee of its message. It darted to Harry as the sound of rushing feet grew nearer.

"Ron is with me!"

Bill's voice shocked him. If Ron was with Bill, then –

"Crucio!" the spell snapped out, deflected neatly by Nimbus. The person tried again, the red hair and freckles beginning to melt away into porcelain skin and platinum blonde hair.

He went to aim again, Draco's wand unerringly pointed at Harry and the twins. Pale lips begin to round out the last of the spell when he was thrown against the far wall with a resounding thump.

Carefully maneuvering around the twins, both of whom were now fully awake, Harry stood before the Death Eater. No wand in sight, power swirled around the elf like air currents.

Harry didn't even get a word out before Malfoy was pointing a shaking hand at the girls and saying, "It was their idea!"

The air in the room grew unnaturally still and everyone, even the elves, had to draw their breaths with trouble at the amount of magic currently in the room.

"Explain."

"How else would I have gotten in here? They took me to the house, the one that the Order stays at. They gave me the polyjuice -" He was choked off before he could finish. The magic in the room had grown even thicker than before.

Nimbus, seeing that this was just going to make things worse, signaled the guards to take the three out of the room and to the cells. They would wait there for further questioning. It would be important to get to the bottom of this, but taking care of Harry and the twins would come first.

Draco did not protest as he was drug out of the room, but that did not stop Hermione and Ginny from throwing a fit, proclaiming their innocence loudly as possible with the lack of air.

"Harry. You must calm down. People can't breathe." Fred gently rubbed Harry's shoulder, straining to sit upright enough to plaster himself along the other's back and side. One more moment passed before the three of them slumped down to the bed.

The others in the room pulled deep breaths at the lack of magic clogging in the air.

"I thought it was all over," his muscles shuddered with conflicting messages. He'd thought that three people that he had trusted had been in the room with him; two were traitors and the third wasn't even who he claimed to be. This threat had been in the room with his mates. The magical and physical exhaustion from the battle warred with the need to eradicate a threat to his mates.

"We'll take care of it for now, Harry. You and the twins need sleep."

The knowledge that somebody would be watching for him staved off some of the compulsion to go after them. With the twins on either side, Harry settled between them and waited.

oOoOo

Dumbledore clasped his hands behind him, following the guard at a leisurely stroll that forced the elf to walk slower and allow the wizard to examine the halls. They had just turned the corner to the healing wing when Hermione, Ginny, and Draco were drug out of Harry's room.

"What's the meaning of this?" he strode forward to find Draco Malfoy, Hermione, and Ginny struggling against the arms of guards.

Nimbus stepped neatly into his path. "That young man attempted to cast an Unforgivable on Harry; he also claims that the girls helped him obtain the Polyjuice potion."

Dumbledore drew himself up taller, so as to tower over the Elf. He wasn't exactly successful. "That's nonsense! As if—"

Nimbus scoffed in the face of the denial and turned to the guards. "Take them down to the cells. I shall be down shortly to sort this out." The guards nodded and pulled the three down the hall as they protested.

Albus attempted to follow them, only to have two more guards step into place in front of him. Frustrated, he glanced to the side and saw Harry and the Twins through the archway. The infuriating children who had been mucking everything up.

He changed course, sweeping into the room before anyone could stop him. "Harry! Surely, you don't believe Hermione and Ginny had anything to do with this?"

Dumbledore watched as the tired boy's face became steely. With the help of the twins, Harry sat up completely.

"I know that Malfoy attempted to crucio me. I know that he was polyjuiced as Ron and that Ron is still at Number 12. I know he couldn't have done it alone!" The air grew thick again.

Before anything could get worse, Nimbus yanked Dumbledore out of the room and shoved him into the waiting grasp of the guards. "Get him out of here before he does anything else."

As the wizard was escorted—none too gently—back out of the labyrinth of corridors, Nimbus watched as Fred and George calmed the young Elf. Even with their help, the air still felt soupy.

oOoOo

Bill looked down at his petrified brother sadly. When had it come to this? He gathered Ron up his arms and walked over to the fireplace. There was really only one thing to do about this.

He threw down a handful of floo powder, "The Citadel!"

The two men appeared in a flash of green flame inside a large marble fireplace. Well-attired guards, hands on swords, stepped into view.

"State your business."

"My name is Bill Weasley. I believe my brother may be involved in something against Harry Potter." He didn't struggle when one swooped forward to take his brother from him. What kind of person had his brother become, to send a Death Eater after his supposed best friend?

"If you would follow me, sir." Bill glanced up at the non-request. He nodded to the woman and followed her down winding halls. They finally stopped outside of a room. She stepped inside and conferred quietly with another. The man kept glancing at Bill out of the corner of his eye as the guard explained his presence.

Finally, the man stepped out of the room, leaving the woman to stand his post. "So, you're Bill Weasley? The one who sent the patronus?"

oOoOo

What should be here:

Ron, Hermione, Ginny, and Draco are all interrogated and spill their guts. Dumbledore gets kicked out/sent back to Number 12. Bill talks to some Elves. Nimbus comes back from hearing the confessions to tell Harry about what happened and that everyone (not in a cell) can go home now. That doesn't go well. And cue scene:

oOoOo

Harry couldn't breathe. He could feel his chest expanding, feel the rush of air into his body. But it wasn't working. What had he done to them? Nothing intentional. Loved good men? Been a good friend? Treated them like the family he had desperately wished them to be? But that wasn't good enough. And now, the twins had been drug into everything against their will.

He felt their arms around him. Warm and comforting and everything that he wanted. But they were going to leave. They needed to work and live their lives. Lives that didn't include him anymore.

The air was like ice now. He could breathe but it felt like knives in his chest as panic consumed him.

oOoOo

"What's happening!" Fred shouted as Harry became stiff in his arms. His skin was like ice, and Fred could see George's breath in the air.

Nimbus looked just as panicked as the twin's felt. "Kiss him!"

"What?! Why—"

"Just do it!"

George looked at Fred, torn between his desire to his Harry and the knowledge that he wasn't theirs to kiss.

Fred, on the other hand, was desperate for any kind of solution to Harry's sudden deterioration and looked at his twin briefly before his features sharpened. He turned to Harry and breathed deep before he gently pressed his lips to the younger man's.

Instantly, the room warmed. Harry's body relaxed. George leaned over and kissed Harry's cheek before leaning his forehead against the other man's shoulder. Fred mirrored him on the other side.

Nimbus watched as they seemed to all melt together. He caught Harry's surprised eyes amongst the rest and gave him and stern look. "They need to know Harry. For all of your sakes. Everything else will take care of itself. But you need to tell them. Or I will."

George leaned back to look between the two elves suspiciously. "What is he talking about, Harry?"

Fred was much quicker on the uptake, between the elf's reaction to their possible departure and the effect their affection had on Harry. "We're your mates, aren't we?"

George stared at his twin in confusion, barely catching Harry's nod. "Why didn't you just tell us?" George didn't give him a chance to respond to the question before swooping him to give the elf his own kiss.

"I didn't think—" Harry started after George had pulled back, shocked.

"That's right. You didn't think. George and I promised each other that we would do whatever was needed to help you—" Fred gently gripped the elf's face and looked him the eyes.

"—To the end of the world and back—" George piped in.

"And we don't make those promises for just anyone."

"We love you," the twins chorused. Tears filled Harry's eyes as he stared into the faces of the men he loved. And who loved him in return.

Nimbus was right; everything else would eventually work itself out. Right now, nothing mattered more than the fact that Voldemort was dead and he was alive with the men he loved.

Nimbus let himself out of the healing room as the three began to talk.

Loose Ends

Basically, the bad guys get what's coming to them. The not-quite-bad-guys come to their senses and accept the relationship or they don't, but those people don't matter.

Bill gets a reward for his actions from the elves, and he will eventually stand as a witness to the Twins' and Harry's marriage down the line.

Harry hates the fame for being an Elf and killing Voldemort. He finishes Hogwarts and decides to help the Twins in the shop. He particularly enjoys meeting children on their first trip to Diagon Alley.

A/N: I've honestly tried to finish this so many times, but I just don't have the motivation or desire to work on this more than I have. But I know that this deserved an ending as one of my first and longest fics. Harry and the Twins do get a Happy Ending just like my 14-year-old self would have wanted.

I was so tempted to just take this down and get rid of it. But I know I hated when that happened to any fic I read so I won't do that. If I ever get the urge (somehow) I will come back and work on this again. I wouldn't count on it though.

If you have any questions about plot holes (I know some exist) or what happened to so-and-so or how such-and-such was resolved, please feel free to ask. I've had amazing readers, and you are why I even attempted to wrap this up in the first place.
